Your really just arguing symantecs. It like claiming Meds isn't Norman because he was born British. (please tell me I don't need to explain that one! /wink)

Fixed.
The Roman empire was spread from North Africa to western parts of Asia. Considering the way they moved people all over the empire, and the enourmity of the empire (and the factor in the other, later major movements of people), I expect most of the people on the planet have their roots in the Roman empire. Be that slave or citizen. The exceptions would probably be native South Americans and Aboriginal Australians/Kiwi's and other Pacific Islanders. But studies in geographical genetics throw up surprises all over the place these days.
So Meds is most likely just as much a Roman as a Norman, or a Viking, or a Saxon.
By the way, I did sense the tone of your post. But you seem to have missed the tone of mine. There was no argument in my comments, just an unnecessary history lesson.
Anyway if you go to Rome these days (I went 2 years or so ago and it's lovely), you'll find many of the Romans consider themselves separate from the rest of Italy. It seems pretty arrogant really. But you can't help but fall in love with the place, I can see why they want it to belong to it's citizens.
Anyway on topic: How can anyone hate the inventors of pizza?!?
