First of all, the article is about race, not immigration. And ask an American Indian, I'm sure he could teach you a thing or two you've probablY conveniently forgotten about American History. Shit, contemporary history for that matter.

Second of all, whether you like to admit it, racism in varying degrees is pretty rampant in America. And until you walk a mile in the shoes of it, you have no room to accuse anyone of having a victim mentality. Do some milk it? Fucking A. But some have legitimate gripes.

I barely know Spanish, <--- half Mexican, half whitey (Swiss *great grandma actually came to America later than the Mexican side*/welsh), and I lived in New Mexico for a while I actually enjoyed the culture, is a nice change.

I also forgot to throw in earlier, my mexican great grandfather actually came across the border the first time with the last Pancho Via (the one who was shot in his car) who he was forced to ride with after he stole his horses. Was told if he wanted them back he had to do a few things, and eventually I guess he became friends with him, as my great uncle was born in one of his houses in Chihuahua.

Funny Story about that great uncle also, he was in WW2, where he was shot at by a tank, which made a building fall in around him. My great grandmother received a letter from the army saying how he had been killed in action, and a few months later, he ends up showing up at the front door. Just wanted to throw that in, since we are talking about how American people are , and how they somehow aren't if they don't assimilate to some bullshit

I'll never criticize someone for actually being persecuted. However, when everyone else sees it and jumps on the bandwagon, that's when we as Americans need to stand up and say enough is enough.

Bullshit. Xenophoboia has been a condition of man since we've been around. I like that you feel so important that you can change the state of mankind, but lets be more realistic. If people stopped playing the victim card so often, then there wouldn't be NEARLY as many stereotypes to fill.

America, as a nation is pretty hypocritical. I had the good fortune of growing up half black/half white in the south. Let me just tell you, if you think everyone in this country has equal rights or equal potential, you are fooling yourself. Sure they wont come out and say it. But it is there none the less.

Been to Germany, Wales, England, Ireland, France, Mexico, all before I Was 5 So eh, maybe I didn't recognize things like I would now, but still have memories of things.

Oh yeah? I just WISH ONCE that I could recieve the minority benefits that America provides. I've been all over the US, and I've rarely seen purely vicitmized people. I've mainly seen people playing the vicitim card to get more out of the system.

I'm not saying America DOESN'T deal in propaganda, just that its not as prevalent as most other countries.

Laodaron's point is valid though. Other countries do have more propaganda than us. But then again our western, U.S. "I have rights" may have just been propaganda too.
