Holy shit that's a lot of food. When I was a kid (from about 12-14) I was doing karate training 6 nights a week for 2.5 hours at a time. I was basically living on huge portions of pasta with tuna, mayo and tomatoes, with breakfast and lunch being pretty much 'as much food as I could stuff into myself'. I come from a pretty poor family, so interesting high carb meals were pretty much not going to happen. So I lived on pasta and tuna. Shitloads of it.

Good times. If you train that hard, you can really enjoy your food. The only surprising thing there is the amount of saturated fats and bad sugars he's eating. The guy's a fucking amazing athlete so who's questioning it? But I know I couldn't eat that much crap and keep it down.

There was some article I read a while ago about the England rugby team's nutritionist trying to get the ungodly level of calories into the players without feeding them the same stuff every day. Sounded like a hell of a task.

To whoever mentioned Army basic training: You're so right. The food was like the highlight of your day. You didn't care what it was. It tasted lovely no matter what. You just had to get as much food on your plate as you could get away with!

Aroundish. I can eat 3 a day generally, depending on what I'm doing. In Baghdad, I ate 2 a day, and had 4 meals a day, counting midnight chow at the Bob Hope DFAC.

I'm assuming you mean ANYTHING else besides MREs. They are fucking garbage, however, are quite novel to those who are not forced to survive on them.

Never forced to survive, however, I wouldn't willingly eat one either, I read a great story regarding MRE's one time, I laughed so fucking hard, don't know how much of it is true though.

(For those that were unaware, my first post was sarcasm)

MRE'S? No. They are crap. Fuck MRE's. The only thing I liked about them is that they weren't the old joints.

I am one of the unaware.

Story I was talking about regarding MRE's. I thought was funny, probably not at all true, but still made me laugh.

MREs are awesome till you have to eat 3 a day for 2-3 months even as a civilian. IE after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita for about 5 months that's about all I ate.

I ate them for only a bit after the hurricane but I enjoyed most of them. Where do you live btw?

Oh and the coolest thing about an MRE isn't eating them, it's making an MRE bomb!!! You put the heat pack is a 2 liter bottle of soda, put some water in it(I think about 1/4th the bottle full), then shake it like crazy and throw it. It makes a pretty big noise and a pretty big hole in the bottle lol.
