Why should anyone be suprised by missile defense in Europe? We have interests there, we build to protect our interests there. What's so confusing? Who cares whether we're protecting against iran or russia? except maybe iran and russia. The countries that re protected will be damned glad that they are, one day. We may have been the only one to drop a bomb in a military conflict, but i'll be suprised if we're the only ones ever.
Israel already has nukes, Iran will eventually, and someone in one of those 2 countries will drop the ball and let some asshat have one eventually. I can only hope it's used somewhere I'm not, but it's going to happen.
As far as Russias actions go, borders change. It happens all the freaking time. It's going to keep happening.
Just be cause north american borders have been fairly stable for 100 years or so (there have been some additions) doesn't mean it will stay that way, except that America is becomming the world's whipping boy where our every action, kind or not, green or not, is lambasted by SOMEONE as the wrong thing to do... Oh boohoo! you found an alternative to oil, but food prices went up! Oh Boohoo you killed a government that butchered thousands of it's own citizens and piled them up in mass graves, and got rid of a dictator that went around telling everyone he had or was working on getting WMD, and it's taking too long for you to turn the place loose to decide it's own fate! It would have turned into a bloodbath if you'd just walked away, but that's not important. Oh Boohoo! you invented cars and now some people believe that their use has broken the earth! Oh boohoo! You invent thousands of things that make peoples lives better and live longer, but they depend on oil to keep them safe!
The world is a better place because of America, learn to love it instead of tearing it up from the inside.

you kinda answered your own question. would any normal citizen of any country wish others to grow in all sorts of things including power but not his own country first?

This post was all over the place, but I think the gist of what you're saying is that America does/has done a lot of good in the world, and that should give us the freedom to behave however we wish.
That about it?

It seems more like you're unwittingly bolstering a potential rival.

It seems like that for you, because you want your country to be on top of everything without any kinds of threat from others. That means any actions from any country can be interpreted as a hostile actions against american democracy (even if it's happening on another continent lol). Right now your government follows that way, but Russia decided to change something. Tbh it doesnt even matter Russia or China or whoever else - it sounds logical to keep balance when someone is trying to get too much power.

i wish you would open your eyes and stop believing the stuff you actually seem to believe currently...
first: we dont want your f'in missiles here, there are no "enemies" here that someone needs to defend against. neither russia nor iran fits in this category (okay... this might be somewhat OT, but there is a serious enemy in europe that we would actually need to defend ourselfs against, and is has got something to do with '1984')
and noone gonna 'drop the ball'.
this may sound strange to you, but the only reason to have nuclear nukes is to assure peace. hows that? a wise man wouldnt dare attacking someone whos got a nuke of that size because as an act of revenge... that would drop the ball to launch the nuke. and as long as your SDI is purely fictional (and it prolly wont work anyways) they just wouldnt risk is. so... whatya get is a status-quo that might stop your hunger for oil
oh... and your last sentence is pure fail
