Actually, I had to go look on the price & actually found a currency converter that you can do retroactively. The pic was taken about 4 years ago, so it came out to about 23k (it'd be 28k now).

lol Maybe the movie?
"Godzilla" - Nissan Skyline GT-R 3rd Generation - Twin turbo, came stock 300+ hp - that was back in the late 80's/early 90's (hence the blocky "coat hanger" looking design). Huge for Japanese cars - to put it in perspective, Lancer EVO VIII came out 2003 or so, with 271 hp stock single turbo AWD. So it was years ahead of its time as far as Japanese market went - Integra Type R was mid 90's and still only came stock with 195hp or so, Civic Type R was a bit lower (but lower weight car + CRX is technically "civic" line), and earlier.
None of them except the Evo you could buy in the states, though - the best we got was type S periodically at probably around 175hp. I used to be able to rattle all this shit off, but it's been a long time, so I may be off a bit here and there but not much. At this point now there are a few Type R imports, a fuckload more Type R
stickers - the more popular route is to rewire and plunk in a JDM engine - much cheaper & they're always up on ebay.
All of them are extremely "tuneable" and easy to modify. This is what is so hot about the Japanese "sake suckers" - it's not the brute muscle you see in American built. American cars have the edge there (plus cost), but Japanese tech is so good in some of them that they're very easily modified (down to minute detail) and - I know Honda at least - can withstand the extra pressure put on the motor. The 93 Teg we have in the garage went from stock 125hp or so to 320 hp in about a year worth of work - still stock bottom end in it and it runs beautifully. He's got a T3/T04E turbo in it and programmed/burnt his own chip - so you figure if someone tinkering around as a hobby can do that with a Teg - what could they do with "Godzilla"?
I think the one in Gaige's post claimed 1400hp? o0
Anyway, the dealer was very much over the 2F2F fans and no one was test driving it unless they had put down money. lol
