Should the folks in asia (like Japan and India) move because there are so many disasterous earthquakes there?

That really is kind of a knee jerk reaction of someone who is young or can't relate to basic humanity. Picking up and leaving whenever the situation doesn't suit you is not always the best course of action.

Nope but its ok i convinced most of my friends to vote for McCain anyways.

Well, that's good, but if your friends are going to base what the vote for off of what you tell them, then I guess we aren't really any better off.

If you're going to live in a place like N.O., then when a hurricane hits, don't fucking complain about it. It's not like its a surprise or anything.

I know I would have gotten the fuck out of there after Katrina.

It's not that hard to pack up and go somewhere else, it really isnt. You meet new people, you start over. get over it. Or stay there, and get whats coming to you.

You do realize New Orleans is a port city? Right? It was built as a port city and is maintained as such. It is kinda needed right now. Although the strategic importance has lessoned and the city could be rebuilt elsewhere, you pretty much need one in that general area.

Rebuilding one the largest cities in the state somewhere else would take an order magnitude more money than repairing the existing one. It also doesn't stop the problem of a coastal city being in danger of hurricanes.

As far as the government "letting" people return, they don't have a choice. Constitutionally, there is no provision for shutting down and moving an entire city.

Fine and dandy if you are in your teens with no real career or ties to a place. Those with large portions of their lives invested in a home, that isn't a simple thing.
