Seriously though, I'm not sure what point there would be in rebuilding again if if Gustav hits like another Katrina.

You said that much more succinctly than I have. Sure, I think he's going to argue that a lot of it was federal money, but hell I wish I could get some of that to fix my cesspool of a hometown, too. If that money wasn't spent on NO, my hometown would still be a disaster, so I don't care much either.

PS: Potus doesn't care about anyone who can't line his pockets, Krysten.

PSS: Why should we rebuild anything then? If the new WTC gets attacked, should we just leave it?

See my comment about the WTC... OK, hurricane is a much more likely threat, but both are possible (probable if we keep pissing people off.)

Are you fucking Kidding me New Orleans is 8 feet Below sea level and guess what the sea levels are rising every year Rebuilding that is investing in a sinking ship.

Rebuilding the WTC Is a completely different Situation as Not rebuilding it shows the world we are afraid of another attack Fyi Voting in Obama is like asking for another attack but ill let you figured out how by your self.

You're absolutely right about Potus

As for the city, it's built on a frigging swamp, is below sea level already, and is sinking by about 2 inches every decade. What happened from Katrina is only going to happen again, and again, and again.

Perhaps I should have said, at what point do we stop dumping cash into "rebuilding" and funnel those resources into re-designing/re-engineering things first? Simply building new houses and businesses without massive improvements to flood control is rather pointless.

60% of the population in my country lives below sea level, that's not a problem at all if your water defenses don't suck. :)
