Just installed it. First impressions are good. SOB sure starts up fast. Will have to go to all my usual haunts and see how it behaves.

Even if it doesn't become my standard browser, more open source competition is a good thing for everyone in that it forces innovation.

I used it liked it but went back to Firefox however i do plan on fiddling around in it some more

Diggin' it. I was able to DL it at work, and almost O'd cuz I love tabbed browsing SO much and can't DL Firefox or IE7 cuz the IT at my job suck monkey balls.

A solution to this for now is http://www.privoxy.org/

Took about 2 minutes to configure.

1.) Install Privoxy
2) Click on the Wrench icon in Chrome in the upper right corner
3.) Choose options>Under The Hood>Change proxy settings
4.) A windows box pops up, choose LAN settings (at least this is what it's called in Vista)
5.) Check off "Proxy settings" and in the address setting add127.0.0.1 and in the port 8118
6.) If you have the option, you can also check off "Bypass proxy for local settings"
7.) Click "Ok", close chrome and restart it. I've had ZERO ads.

Couple annoying things, like why doesn't it remember my vBulletin password, but that's about it.

This will clearly replace firefox in a month or 2. Right now I'm tremendously impressed but I still prefer firefox for a few things such as quickmarks and the ability to use middle mouse button to "super scroll" as someone put it.

If nothing else, another badass open source browser will usher in uber plugins. And I'm sure it will soon reroute Mailto: links from outlook instead to gmail, which will be the greatest thing ever done.

If it was anything other than Google, I'd say it would just give firefox a nudge to compete, but its Google, so there really isn't any way it wont completely replace everything else soon.

The way tabbing/bookmarks work is genius. Seems a lot less cluttered than FF.
