Chrome Market Share Leapfrogs Opera on Day 1 | Maximum PC
Yes, because looking at Day 1 is a GREAT way to see whether chrome has a larger market share than Opera. Considering lots of people are trying it out to determine whether they are even going to use it on DAY 1. After which they either continue to use it, or go back to their old browser, thus bringing down the market share of Chrome to more usual levels.

Yeah, but then again remember this:

Ask the average computer user if they've heard of Opera or Google. I'll bet most know of, and use, Google while having no clue WTF Opera even is. Google has a better chance at grabbing market share with Chrome because it is far better known to the masses and can use its advertising might to put Chrome out there. It remains to be seen what will actually happen in the long run due to the fact that Chrome has a lot of growing up to do before it can be as strong as its bigger brothers.

Exactly, but who hasn't heard of Google? Google has incredible Search Engine market share and can easily push it's browser on the masses, something that Firefox, Safari and Opera can't do as easily.

But yeah, most people haven't heard of anything but IE, sad sad little people =(

For example my Mom works for a home health care company as an office manager and her co-workers just lately started telling her how awesome FireFox is and tried to get her to start using it. She told them she already used it because her son had installed it for her years ago, the co-workers were like "It's been around that long???".

My step dad's construction company uses Firefox on all of it's new Vista company laptops, and alternates between IE and FF on their networked office computers because of legacy software conflicts.
