Well, it's been a year!
Since I've so much as taken a drag off of a cigarette.
Go me! I rule (keep in mind, the "money saved" portion is based on $5/day. They went up to like $7/pack a couple months ago):
Quote:
Time Smoke-Free: 365 days, 16 hours, 24 minutes and 5 seconds
Cigarettes NOT smoked: 7314
Lifetime Saved: 1 month, 25 days, 20 hours
Money Saved: $1,830.00

Gratz man. I quit for good around last Thanksgiving. Is it just me, or can you smell the smoke/a smoker a mile away now?

Re: Well, it's been a year!
I "quit" over a year ago myself. Although, I have had a few butts in the last year i never bought a pack. I think its been atleast 4 or 5 months since I've had a cig now. Like i said though, I pretty much quit like 1.5 years ago. It was totally worth it... fucking cigs are expensive as hell.. and obviously unhealthy...
I can smell a smoker a mile away now lol :p its pretty funny

If I'm at a red light with the windows up, and someone in another car is smoking, I smell it - lol

Re: Well, it's been a year!
My wife and I quit about 3 years ago, then maybe 6 months later she was diagnosed with terminal cancer...and we now both smoke again - priorities changed somewhat after that kicker...
Edited to add - It was damn hard to give up for that time, well done on a year! And yeah - you can smell the smoke from miles away

Grats!
The best part about quitting smoking is the fact that non-smokers like me don't have to breath in your exhaust fumes.

Re: Well, it's been a year!
I quit 4 years ago iirc. I'm not counting.
I do know though, for certain, 110%, that I will never smoke again, ever.
I was just 'ready'.
And I used the Alan Carr books, plus the fact that I was genuinely fed up with smoking. Tbh I think the latter is more important if you want any success with quitting. If you don't 'want' to quit, as an addict you'll start trying to convince yourself that you're depriving yourself of something you deserve etc. I actually only had severe withdrawal for a day or two. But I've never stopped having little cravings, and I don't expect to ever stop having them.
