Well in the UK the budget, tax and public spending are always key issues. At the moment the civil service (the collection of government agencies/departments) is huge. Probably the biggest it's ever been. And a lot of it, completely unnecessary.
My comment was, that if they trimmed the fat in this area, I'd possibly give them my vote. Because less money wasted on fat government = more public money to spend where it actually matters, like schools, health care (the NHS is a free-to-all governemnt funded health service in the UK), policing, etc.
Right now imo we waste far too much money, and we need a government who's fiscally sharp. When you have virtually fuck all exports and no real government cash cows besides tax and parking tickets, then you need people with skill running the show. Kinda like when Blair was in charge and Brown was chancellor. Our economy was extremely healthy. Now with Brown as PM we're sliding into a sticky shitheap of a recession.
Imo we need to trim the military down a bit, perhaps reduce the size of the air force and just let the yanks rent some more air bases, scrap the ludicrously expensive projects to upgrade our stealth fighters, nuclear subs and aircraft carriers. Then fire all the retards who do pointless jobs for defunct government departments. Then disband the stupid civil enforcement officer whateverthefuckitis thing (the retards who look like police but can only hand out ASBO's and FPN's). Then use the money to hire more real police, give teachers a pay rise and update the NHS. AND still have loads of money left over to pump more foreign investors with grants to provide unskilled and semi-skilled employment in the UK.
Someone says that then i r vote for them.
That is all.
P.S imo we also need to think about national service soon. 16-26, unemployed and not in education imo should = military service for 3 years. Tbh if we did that everyone would come out the other side employable (a huge list of driving licenses, plus a trade if you're fit for more than absorbing bullets) and we'd have less slackers laying around doing fuck all for years on end.
