Re: Obama reaches a new low
I'm republican and I don't think for a second that remark makes obama sexist. the whole lipstick on a pig comment is a reference I've heard in the past, it's not too uncommon.
Partisan politics sucks because it forces people to side with their party so much and become blind to how they might truly see things otherwise.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
Phroggg that video is perfectly fine. He wants to reduce spending for future combat systems... I'm in the defense field right now, I work in a lab where they test future combat systems. Let me assure you that there is alot of wasteful spending.
Alot of people out there just simply don't know enough to make educated decsions... instead people hear propaganda and simply believe the 1st thing they hear.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
I'd always rather see videos detailing why I SHOULD vote for someone rather than why I shouldn't vote for the opposition. It's lame that it has become the norm to say "Vote for me, because at least I'm not as bad as THAT guy!".
What shoudl happen... is both of the nominees should be excellent candidates, and it shoudl be a difficult toss up for peopel to decide, because either one would be great!
Obama has strayed away from the smear campaigning alot... and thats impressed me. Though I usually vote republican because my general view is that democrats are visionaries, but republicans are the only ones who truly know whats best for us! ha ha sounds silly I'm sure...

Re: Obama reaches a new low
The lipstick on a pig comment, while it was innocent in nature just wasn't the best comment to make, based on how these campaigns are heading. I'd say if anything, hes guilty of a bad judgment call.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
Possibly, but still it's a common remark. Assuming that it was a direct refference to Sarah Palin's comment is pure conjecture.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
Like I said, timing was wrong. Knowing how each side is misrepresenting each other this year, he should have known better. But, that lipstick wearing pig is what's going to destroy his '08 chances.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
It's not going to destroy a damn thing. People are over reacting. If you watch the entire clip, as was shown on Hannity and Colmes and every other news network, Palin's name wasn't mentioned anywhere before he made the statement. It's a reach and another lie in this repetitive lie mode the GOP are in and it won't stick, no matter how much Sean Insanity tries to drive this home.

Re: Obama reaches a new low
I don't like Obama at all, and I think it was an over-reaction to a common cliche which might not have been timed right due to a recent joke by Palin.
I think Obama and Palin both ought to form a coalition to go after the Teleprompter industry!(If you don't get that, just gtfo of the conversation now plz)
Are we going to have to weather the rest of the pre-election coverage on every possible lawyerish angle of every statement made by both parties or can we focus on the goddamn issues the candidates represent for a while?
Goddamn Communist News Network....
