No, I was just imagining what the blowback would be if you substituted "Obama" for "Bush" in your previous statement.

And I'll change it into something even more nonsensical.
Hey everybody I have great news, the Bush-Saudi ties are finally paying dividends!
After decades of sending tens of billions of your tax dollars in foreign aid to Saudi Arabia to prop up their dictatorship, they are gonna go against OPEC and try to pump out a little more oil for us to drop gas prices by maybe as much as a dime!
Talk about return on investment! WooHoo!!

Saudi Arabia is a monarchy which means they have a king not a dictator. Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il, and Ahmajenidad are dictators. Putin is a side stepping dictator. Even though there is a so called new president in Russia. Who is still calling the shots? But yeah I guess a monarcy is not much better than a dictatorship.

I'm not here to argue semantics, especially on something this stupid. Royalty is just a guise for a dictatorship to hide behind as a means of legitimacy.
And what about the Absolute Monarchy of the Saudis where their word is the only law and they maintain total power over everything in the country distinguishes it from a dictatorship anyways?
Edit: You are dumb. Chavez and Ahmadinejad were both appointed in democratic elections. And in Ahmadinejad's case he isn't even the one really running things.

I totally agree with you. A monarchy is not much better than a dictatorship.

They supported him because during the primaries he sold himself as a guy who wouldn't continue some of the more ridiculous and lopsidedly pro-Israel policies in the Middle East. Once Obama was out of the primaries though, he toned down some of his more provocative talk and those groups retracted their support saying that as far as they were concerned, it didn't matter anymore because US policy wouldn't change.
Unlike Andrew Sullivan, they can see beyond a name and a color.
