not one bit. i dont use any program to rip dvds, i just remember reading that article about those before.

Will Nero allow me to decrypt and burn only what I want? Do you know if it allows for compression?

A friend of mine had reccomend a slysoft product, AnyDVD, but I wanted to ask around and see if there was anything free, or something esle that people recommended to purchase. I am interested in burning backups of DVDs as well as ripping and compressing them to play on portable devices.

I am a cheap bastard, so the free route for me is preferred if I can find a good one. :-)

Been years since I tried. Was always a pain in the ass trying to shrink them down and then more of a pain in the ass to find out which media worked with which DVD player.
