people would have an stroke if they knew how much the gov't paid people for their empty tobacco allotments (allotment - piece of land the gov't says on which you can grow tobacco, there is a limitied # of acres they in their infinite wisdom have allowed for such a purpose)

How is ethanol cheep when it takes more energy to produce a gallon of the stuff then said gallon will produce.

David Pimental, a leading Cornell University agricultural expert, has calculated....70 percent more energy is required to produce ethanol than the energy that actually is in it. Every time you make one gallon of ethanol, there is a net energy loss of 54,000 BTUs.

Or Cheep as in the gallons of water it takes to produce just 1 gallon of ethanol?
