I figured it'd happen, I just didn't think it'd be by 27. I mean we lost our QB and a ton of our defense to the NFL /shrug.

We should be pretty stacked next year especially with a lot of schools losing their stars to the NFL.

What sucks is Boise is gonna get screwed over now even though they beat Oregon =/

TBH, college football isnt very compelling this year...no one has a really good offense and has made the defensive stats inflated. With the exception of the non-BCS conferences. the non=BCSrs may be the only interesting thing happening in college football this year.

If you're talking about the USC loss its hard to compare them to the Gators considering we lost Sanchez, Matthews, Maualuga and 7 others (4 of them in the first round). Talk to me next year when you don't have Tebow.

The expectations on USC/Florida this year were way different. The Gators are the defending national champs with a heisman winning senior QB - quite the contrast to USC.

Like I said, while I didn't think we'd suffer the worst loss in Carroll history I wasn't very confident that we'd beat Oregon. Its a down year for us and I firmly believe we're doing better than most people thought we would, even with the usual USC hype.

Am I making excuses? Sure, but I think they're legitimate. When you lose the heart of your defense and your QB to the NFL draft you're obviously going to suffer some setbacks (though I think we'd only have 1 loss if Barkley played in the Husky game).

We'll see how Texas fairs w/o McCoy and Florida fairs w/o Tebow and shit like that next year when USC should hopefully be returning a pretty solid team with experience at the QB position, especially if McKnight stays, although losing McCoy and Mays is going to blow hard.

Yep, there's always next year. As a Texas fan, though, I'm stoked about THIS one. And I'm not worried about losing McCoy. Mack Brown is a phenomenal recruiter. When Vince Young went on to the NFL we thought it was over, but then came Colt. I'm sure we'll have a very capable QB next year, and if not well there's always the year after that. :P
