Default Re: Election results 2009

I think the election results indicated a couple of things:

-Far right wing republicans showed moderate republicans in office to watch out. They are not against undermining and losing a seat to stake out their positions and push moderate republicans farther in their own direction. It's sad liberals don't have the balls to do the same.

-Voter turn out was horrible and what did turn out basically said we are getting more and more tired of everyone that's currently in office. Even in the face of big money and big faces (President campaigning), both are losing their effectiveness for political campaigns when voters are suffering.

Republicans had the presidency, the congress and 7 out of 9 of the seated supreme court justices were appointed by republicans from 2002-2006. What did they do about any of these issues while they had all that power? Nothing. Why? Because they work better for Republicans as unresolved wedge issues. Actions > Words, they couldn't care less.

I would appreciate our elections a bit more if all of our candidates weren't a joke..

This isn't a new development.

Give more money, are more energetic and per faction go vote more consistently. In our politics, all those factors add up to super majority.

But not a numerical one, which is what I think was meant by "majority of republicans".

All that counts is participation. If all you do is claim it but don't vote or otherwise participate, then why should you count as part of the club?

Its funny how you think those are the only issues that matter to conservatives. You are slitting your own throat by being so ignorant.

Check the polls, the majority of Americans are against abortion now, and last time I checked democrats came out in droves to vote against gay marriage (I'm assuming this is what you incorrectly refer to as being anti-gay). Those 2 issues are important for religious folks. Note I didn't say the 'religious right', because there is definitely a 'religious left' that agrees with them on those two issues.
