Eliminate the cap so shitty teams can STFU already. The cap doesn't mean shit. The STL Cardinals, the team I follow, has only one team ahead of them in WS wins, and the Cards CERTAINLY don't have the cap that the Yankees do.

Btw, read in the paper that TV viewers for last nights game was up 45% in comparison to last years World Series. Thats pretty fucking huge.

I'm not really in favor of a salary cap, but when A-Rod makes only $3 mil less than the entire Florida Marlins team it almost isn't fair to consider baseball a "competitive" sport.

I have no problem with the way the Yankees handle their salary system. MLB is very much a free market system, and it works well. The reason I dont' respect the Yankees is because they are able to buy the most talent in the game, and yet not win the World Series EVERY YEAR.

The MN Twins have the lowest combined salary in the AL Central, and yet still made it to the playoffs. Talk for them now is centralized around who, out of their top 3 or 4 players, will they give up so they can afford to keep Joe Mauer playing there.

How can you say the MLB's "free market system", "works well" when one team has such a comparatively high salary that your own personal expectation is that this one team should (based on salary alone) win the World Series "EVERY YEAR".

Isn't that scenario completely antithetical to the spirit of competition and what makes a sport, well, a sport?
