I dont know what its like on a military base or to be in the military, but if people who've been there agree that arming soldiers on the base is a bad idea.. I have to agree with them. However, as a citizen, I still think that we should all carry guns. The real criminals are on the streets, not in the military.

Wrong. Carrying guns enables people to act on their emotions in the most final way possible. If you're at a bar, and get into a fight, you might get punched in the face. Lets say YOU punch a guy in the face. Then he kills you. That's the way this country USED TO BE....and it didn't work. I'd prefer it if we took ALL of the guns away, and then to get them back, a person had to go through extensive training and an application process proving necessity of said gun. IE hunters.

Do you really trust this Government to do that right now?

I get a kick out of the "would you trust the government?" kind of questions, when the alternative is what, exactly? Trusting the vocal demographic? Trusting the people that enjoy the 3-4 minute piece-of-shit Billboard Top40 hits? Trusting the NRA?

I won't trust this government for a single thing until 2010, when the dems lose control of Congress. And then in 2012, then they lose the White House. Then and only then will I even remotely consider trusting the government. It doesn't even matter who the new president will be, because I can assure you, he won't be sitting on his ass doing nothing while our country flounders further into an unemployment pit.

Also, for any rebuttal that this is not Obama's fault, I put the question to you all. On 9/11 2001, less than 9 months after G-Dub took office, we were attacked. Over time, that attack has been attributed to G-Dub, and his administration. So if we can blame G-Dub 9 months into it, we can blame Obama 11 months into it.

So it's not the government you don't trust, just when the Democrats are in charge. Got it.

Who would be in charge if the central government wasn't?

I'd imagine this would be left in the hands of individual communities to regulate. If a community felt like they needed to regulate guns, they would probably regulate it. If a community saw no harm in allowing each other to carry guns peacefully, they would probably allow it. It really shouldn't be up to the central government to decide if a community or regional area needs gun regulation.. it should be up to the citizens who live in that area.

For Obama, the planes crashed into the economy before he was even elected.
