Yeah, I don't want to watch it anymore either. The juxtaposition of Dexter's inner self and his wonderful family really was one of my favorite things about the show.

Now it's going to turn into him just going nuts in revenge or something formulaic, predictable, stupid, easy. :/

I agree. W.T.F.

Shocking. It leaves me wondering about next season. I'm very happy about the way they ended the final episode, the whole time I was thinking this is too predictable only to get hit with a wammy at the very end. Bravo.

Spoiler for Final Episode:
I was not a fan of the family dynamic, specifically Rita. I found her nagging undesirable and I enjoyed the season with the sadistic brunette much more. I'm glad she's dead.

I'm curious how Trinity's family never mentions Dexter or sees him around the crime scene/office and reveals his identity. Seems like he would have easily been discovered as having a bigger role than he lead onto.

I think there could be a saving grace to all this.
I enjoyed the final episode.

We need to come up with a timeline between the wife leaving for the Keys and the time Dex came home.

I doubt Trinity had anything to do with the demise of ....

And I think Quinn has something in store for us.

Quinn is an interesting angle, but I have a hard time pegging him as a killer.

Quinn may not have been the one to take "the most recently departed" but I think he has to be some sort of player in all this.

Question for ya; do you think Trinity killed "the most recently departed (Yes, I am being nice and not spoiling for others)?

I don't.
He went to Deb's place (Dexter's old place). Maybe there was the address to Dex's new place there. I guess its possible.
But in the course of a few hours he also had to pawn off the jewelry get a rental car and pick up the Mustang.
Rental car wasn't shown, but how the hell could he get from his house to Deb's otherwise? Walking distance?

Now Quinn was only present at the raid of Trinity's house as far as air time.
After the raid we don't see him for the rest of season 4.
That Internal Affairs Asian chick (or was it FBI chick?) from last season dropped off the planet for S4.
And, I recognized her as an actress from a few other small roles in other shows. What does that say to me? It says she will be back.

Quinn is dirty. We know that.
He was brought in as a small red herring last season.
Worked himself nicely into this season to let your guard down.
Next season? hmmm......

I see three possibilities for Quinn.

1. He is the one that takes Dex down at the end of the series

2. He dies (my least favorite choice)

3. He is a killer

I favor #3 but can see #1 as well in the long run.

What do you think?

P.S. post 1000

I never watched the show before midway through this season. A friend wouldn't shut up about it so I gave it a shot. Not a bad show.

I didn't think anything was foul about it. I mean its a show about killing on showtime. There's going to be swearing and blood with a possibility of tits. Not that I would be offended by anything they showed anyways, but nothing even remotely registered on the wtf meter.

Like I said, I'm not familiar with the older story and how long he's been married and all that. But the family is by far the worst part of the show to me, especially the wife. The sister bugs me as an actress, but I can live with her.

See, I believe Trinity killed you-know-who because his intention by going to Deb's apartment was to kill either Dexter or a member of his Dexter's family. I don't think that just because he found out that it was the wrong house he would abandon those plans.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he also had the van to cruise around in until the car was ready.

You'd probably like the older seasons a lot.
