I do like multi-point interfaces but I can't imagine any practical usage.

Maps and photo resizing is great but it's not something I'm going to run to the store to buy especially if it costs more than 100$.

Quit thinking so small.

I mean seriously, imagine you're going to a conference or doing a presentation or something. You just walk in, plop whatever data device you happen to have on the table, and then with nothing more than your fingers, you can drag all your shit all over the screen. No plugging in flash drives, no fucking with anything. Just bam, drop it on the table and there it is. Say it's a word document or whatever, just drag it onto the Word icon, blam, it pops up, you can turn it whatever direction you need to. Could have a little button, touch it, a little keyboard display pops up, hey, there, you can type. No need for a keyboard.

Even at home, as long as it remains a point and click interface, they could make a kitchen table like that. Bring up weather, news, sports, whatever while you're eating breakfast.

This obviously has more possibilities in business than it does in the house, but it's not hard to imagine what's possible.

I dunno, while I'm at the breakfast table I'm normally eating. Fumbling around with the table while I try to eat doesn't sound appealing especially if plopping my bowl of cereal down might trigger a string of events that ends up erasing my pda.

Yeah, I can understand the board room appeal but that seem like a very limited application and at best it's a time saver not a life changer.

EDIT; I imagine my cat would think this was the best invention ever though.

One thing I saw the other day, either on discovery channel or history channel.. not sure, was paper thin televisions and other screens.

Pretty much they showed these superrrr thin TVs where they will soon be applying as a paint to walls and other things to make them one big screen. Possibilities leading to buttons that change wall colors.. dragging TV and computer screens to where ever you want and resizing to whatever you want.

The future possibilities look pretty fun actually.
