Purpose of this Forum and Special Rules

These are the special guidelines and rules of this section:

A. You can start "happy talk" posts, spam bump posts, posts about pie, posts about cake, and posts about anything else you want that don't violate the Site Rules linked in my sig below.

B. If you want, you can try and determine the maximum size that any single post in can attain using this forum software before the post itself bugs out and crashes or will no longer load because of its size (this maximum theoretical limit has never been reached, and is believed to be in excess of 1000 pages).

C. You can also create huge, massive posts in this directory for the purpose of powerleveling your post count, or basically for whatever the hell reason you want.

But, and I repeat but:

D. You can also start serious posts in this section about any topic you want, provided that doesn't violate the Site Rules.

E. When someone starts a post in this section for a specific purpose, including for the purpose of determining which tastes best, Jello Brand Pudding or Jello Brand Gelatin, or for any other topic, it is NOT ok to spam bump or derail attempts to have a serious discussion about that topic. That will NOT be tolerated, and I WILL intervene, and I WILL be pissed about having to use my time to resolve such pissant disputes.

So, here's how we will all share this sandbox together based on the above rules and guidelines:

F. The person who starts the post in this section gets to declare the topic, or non topic of the post, and whether it is a FFA spam bump post attempting to reach 5000 pages, or instead, whether it is a post about a specific topic related to a serious issue, or a post about anything in between.

G. And then, and yes there is more and then, everyone else will respect the "first rule" set by the original poster. The OP of each post in this section should try and start the post by saying what it is supposed to be about, and whether the purpose of the post is to have an adult conversation about a specific topic, or to act like you did when you were 6 years old and heard the word "fart" for the first time, or whatever.

Let 's summarize where we are so far: It's all up to the OP to determine the topic or non topic of each post. Everyone will respect the "first rule" set by the OP in each post, and will follow it for the remainder of that post, or will start their own post with their own "first rule" if they don't like the first rule set by the OP of a specific post.

Bottom line: You can say anything you want here that doesn't violate the Site Rules, but you still must still act with common courtesy towards others who want to do different things than you want to do. Please share this sandbox and respect each other's rights as you expect them to respect yours, even if you dislike each other.

I fucking guarantee these rules will be enforced equally against everyone.

Sweet, then it'll be like T6 grinding all over again. What would be funny is if posts in this forum had a negative modifier to one's post count.

No to your first question, but yes to your second.

My problem with NGD is that you can't post anything there or have a serious discussion that isn't related to EQ2 without the dumbasses in that forum spamming your post to death and preventing you from having your discussion. I've made what I felt were important posts in NGD before, that took me a half hour or longer to write, only to see them flooded with 3+ pages of one word spam replies in under five minutes. That is unacceptable here.

That results in a classic catch-22 imposed by EQ2Players.com: You can only talk about certain things in NGD, but you can't hold any serious discussion in NGD unless you are a regular in that forum.

This forum is meant for two different types of people:

-People who want to make spam bump NGD style posts, because I don't understand it but some people enjoy doing that, and whatever floats your boat IMO, and

-People who want to hold serious discussions regarding matters that aren't related to the topic of other forums on this site.

What I'm saying is:

-People who want to make 300 page spam bump posts showing creativity and ingenuity in smiley design and arrangement, or as a gallery for their ascii art, or WHATEVER, should feel free to do so in this forum, provided they don't create so many posts that it spams out the other posts in this forum, and

-People who want to start serious discussions in this forum should also feel free to do so, and their right to talk in a spam free environment within their own posts will be enforced here.

So that is the difference between this forum and NGD. This site respects both types of threads, the silly and the serious.
