People, I gotta drive my boss around all day, back late tonight, please keep the designs coming, I'll get them all up tonight. Sorry I'm behind on that atm.
Thanks

Re: Contest - Design a shirt!
I am nurta's sweetie and have a BFA in communication design. Computer wise I am pretty much self taught and have been doing what I do for over 17 years. I use almost all of the Adobe line of products including photoshop and adobe illustrator. I suck at illustration, but I am great at concepts and design.
I am in awe Bitmap. I am not much of an illustrator, so I am very impressed with your design. It rocks hard! Might have to keep you in mind for help in executing ideas. :-)

I'm curious which programs that can do this stuff are cheap as I recall Leah shelling out a small fortune her CS2 stuff. Maybe she can use something cheaper! ;)

I use Adobe CS3 Premium hun. It has indesign, illustrator, photoshop, dreamweaver, flash and acrobat. I think in my quick perusal he uses some 3d program, unless I misunderstood.

personally I use CS2 and have a whole host of 3rd party filters. there are other programs out there that are cheaper like gimp or corel, but I love the seamless integration that allows me to shift from vector graphics in illustrator to rastered graphics in photoshop and the way it handles the layers. also the availability of filters for the program is a consideration. if you are serious about doing graphics, adobe is a must. The nice thing about adobe is once you make the initial purchase the upgrades are pretty reasonably priced. for the model rendering I used curious labs poser 6, not long ago they were giving away copys of poser 5 for free. poser doesn't have alot of the features of an app like maya but for static design and simple animation its fast, cheap and easy.

Re: Contest - Design a shirt!
Ahh, yeah I guess the upgrades are cheaper than the real thing it's just still pricey to me /giggle. And she swears by her Adobe stuff I just didn't know if there was something cheaper :D I have no idea about this stuff and the costs seem like allot to me b/c I'm a cheapskate. Hell, I had no idea "fonts" could cost so much, heh.
I'm in awe of artists as I have like zero ability

ack!! fonts are a big pain in the ass! had to shell out $75 for a helvetica-like font that the dumb ass client forgot to provide and the deadline was such we had to buy it.
have you seen http://www.dafont.com its a great free font site.

Re: Contest - Design a shirt!
yes fonts are a PITA. 39 dollars here 250 dollars there...its amazing how expensive they are...and they got you proverbially over a barrel.
Nice font site thanks for the link. I like absolutelyfonts.com, but its the same ole fonts. This one looks like it has some nice contemporary fonts.
I also like using shutterstock. Very nicely priced photo and vector graphics.
