I'm talking about AoC Flames • Index page. I made this post on his site, let's see if he has the guts to leave it up:

But copying without asking and generally lame look on that site is is a very poor attempt at it.

It doesn't bother me unless he masquerading as an affiliate when he's not.

The "Flames" idea wasn't invented here (although it was taken to the next level). FoH lays claim to the world first in my book. I hope he's successful with his venture. Every MMO should have a community like EQ2Flames in my opinion.

I seriously doubt that Niber gave him permission or information about how to set up a site competing with this one. I hadn't decided whether to do a Conan site yet, after the spectacular, expensive, and time killing flop of Vanguard and our Vanguard site.

The thing that bothers me most is people thinking that shit has ANYTHING to do with me, or that is is authorized or approved by me in any way.

I never gave permission for anything.

It is possible I spoke with him though. I speak with a lot of people regarding the site. If anything I made it abundantly clear the amount of resources and time it requires to maintain a quality site. Most people think I'll grab a free version of phpBB, spend 20$/mo on a web hosting account and I'll run a forum and become rich and famous when that's thats really not how it works.

It seems to me like this person, while not officially representing himself as LFG or in connection with EQ2Flames (although he DID mention EQ2Flames on his site pimp post on AoC's forums), it seems clear that he mapped his site after this one and is borrowing on the name for residual fame.

Its like those fucking search site leeches who buy up URLs as they expire or use the misspellings of popular sites to gain traffic. Bottom feeders of the internet.

Really hate to see someone feed off of all the work you guys have put into this site. Maybe you should just go secure the domain name of all future MMO's =p.
