She may be helpful, and sweet, and caring, and nice and all those things you say she is, but that doesn't make her "Player of the Year." What has she contributed to the community as a whole besides being really really nice? There are alot of really really nice players.

I didn't put my name in, I know I'm a worthless player, but this was meant to be someone who helped the community as a whole. I voted for LFG, who has done more than ANYONE else in EQ2 to help the community. And he lost to some "nice girl" who hasn't done shit but post alot on the official forums and be "really sweet" in game. There are alot of people who fall under that description.

I don't know why I'm surprised that it ended up that way. Like they would have ever admitted that LFG has helped the game and community.

Hell I would have taken Savanja, Coyote, Calthine or Radar over Loolee.

I didn't vote in the poll honestly, but I'm satisfied it wasn't someone running a site. There are too many politics and conflicts of interest involved with them and contests.

Come on 3Devious ....are you REALLY telling me NGD is anything like it used to be? I guarantee 50% of the posting there is done by less than 12 people. It's a footnote on the official forums. *I* barely post there these days.

The NGD "group" of people was a valid arguement and debate back in....uhh.... September I think it was when Elaine kicked it off. Times are different.

The DC metrorail is brutal even without Midwest tourists.

Well, that would be why she was chosen. People like that make you want to play the game and be around them more (if you aren't a raider.) Come on, we don't play this game because it is a well designed, fun experience! Being better than most of the games out there does not mean that you are good. We are in a trend of rewarding mediocrity.

What can really make a game that is only passable successful is a good sense of community. She sounds like the kind of person who promotes that. (I have no idea of who the hell you guys are talking about.) I think this site is great, but it doesn't really make me want to play the game more. From a purely marketing standpoint, I would rather have this Loolee as my Player of the Year than my best dissenter (no matter how funny he is.)

PS: I love the term angst hole!

Contests subject to public opinion and Vote ALWAYS turn into popularity contests. Thats why I think they suck =/ SoE should of had criteria of the model player and used a panel of judges to review the applicants that had the most votes. Would of made so much more sense and removed much more doubt of the winner not being worthy.
