You're right, that wasn't fair. I don't go to eq2players anymore. It got banned by the DHS filter and I don't fight with Kendricke anymore so there is no reason to log in from home. I have no idea if it has changed or not. Sorry NGD people, I was wrong.

Sometimes that's what they're looking for are some extremely helpful, outgoing people who foster community within the game by being an example of what an MMO player should be. Positive word of mouth is probably the only advertising EQ2 has going on these days, so when a new player meets up with someone who enhances thier experience in a great game like EQ2 they tell two friends, etc. Loolee happened to be nominated by several people, some of which never SET FOOT in the NGD (and Nurta's right btw, get a new horse to beat).



Really. You're joking. While I respect what LFG has done with this site and that he had the nuts to put it together, what has he done that has truely impacted the EQ2 community in a way that SOE sees as positive? HOW has he done more than anyone? I don't see it. I concede that LFG is footing money out of his own pocket to send 3 people to FF and in the process generated a lot of hype for it. However, I've seen nothing he's done for the community other than create a fansite where the people who were banned, people who want to bitch loudly enough to hear there own voices, and want to start shit for the sake of starting shit, can go. Yes, there have been some pertinent topics in this site, but for the most part this site thrives off of drama created by (most of the people here) people who feel that SOE sucks and yet still shell out money for the game. I've seen a lot of constructive commentary, but I've seen more bullshit whining and griping and drama mongering. THAT doesn't build a positive community, it only generates negative hype for SOE and they're NOT going to reward that.

BTW, LFG my above statement is based on the fact that I've yet to see it. I'm always open to you proving me wrong, but maintaining this site doesn't count.

There is a MUCH higher information to stupid worthless chatter bullshit ratio on these boards to the point that they rival the official boards as far as usefulness goes. What you see as people just having the ability to bitch, we see as the ability for people to receive unmoderated-by-useless-pantywastes-like-Echgar information.

I almost feel sad for you Alania but then I see how much of a cunt you are and well; I stop. You're angry, unhappy, and I liked you better when you were playing VG. Raiding while part of the game, is not the only facet of the game difficult to comprehend for you I know. An example of someone helpful to the community is someone like Loolee who would go OUT OF her way to group with a man who was dying from brain cancer b/c he enjoyed her company and she wanted to help him b/c she's Loolee. A example of a helpful person is someone like Loolee who randomnly helps noobs for no reason except that she's Loolee. To my knowledge she's never turned down someone who has asked for help. She is a shining example of someone who puts others before herself not for glory but b/c she enjoys it. A group with Loolee was never boring and always enjoyable; she can make even the grumpiest Nurta laugh. She doesn't limit herself to only being with one group of people she interacts with all whom she crosses paths with. She's a happy soul and someone who is genuinely fun to be around; she's not angsty or down on folks.

She is a great person period. So take your ignorant ass comments about what YOU think a Player of the Year should be and shove it back in your "angst hole". /giggle

As I stated before Laodaron, I've seem a lot of constructive criticism here and I will agree with you, some of it has been stuff that might've gotten you warned or banned on the regular forums but for the most part just for the amount of foul language. However, I've seen far more griping than anything else. I find more useful info on the official forums by players than I do here.

Now don't get me wrong, I come here because when I see a gleem of intelligence that isn't rant based, it's DAMN good advice or a really good debate that's intelligent and not stupidity based. I just don't see as much of that as I have the flaming and the bullshit and the hate. That's why I'm asking LFG to prove me wrong, cause if I am wrong I need to apologize to him and the site and eat some major crow. Until I see something that he's done outside of this site that has benefitted the community as a whole though, and not just maintaining this site, I don't think that he's "done more for the EQ2 community than anyone else".

and it seems like these people know her pretty well and then what constitutes "player of the year?" being nice really doesnt make u a good player and i really havent seen any advice she has given and i troll around other boards quite frequently as well as this one.

So the qualifications are: someone who spends less time working on actual game content and more on socializing, someone that can kiss ass to everyone very well and not be objective, someone that fosters barely any opinions as to game mechanics and real player-effecting issues, and someone that doesn't use Eq2flames.

And who gives a fuck if you are already going. So the desire to see someone win that has previously planned on attending before any opportunity like this was even announced is greater just to pull in that well-known SOE generosity? Fuck that, reward the people that are obviously already willing to fund a trip because obviously they show more support to the game then someone that no one even knows. At least LFG has been rounding up the advertisement of FanFaire for a while now, and because of it probably added a few more ticket sales to the event. I think that deserves something. Just because it is on a seperate site off official forums does not mean a fucking thing, because he has done alot for the community through it.

These boards have done some cool stuff, collected all the raiders together and put their feedback for easy communication in one spot (what's useful on a weapon, is this zone fun, etc). Kept 'em largely off the general forums so that you don't get the crazy flaming of random newbies whose first post is "get rid of epics" or something. If you spout off bullshit about game mechanics on the general forums you'll get ten people agreeing with you, here you might not like the response but at least someone will tell you why you're wrong in the process :P

This Loolee sounds like a class act though and more power to her. Player of the Year is more of a froofy fun publicity thing.

And how is it that you know her accomplishments in the game? B/C she's not in a raiding guild? Last time I played I do recall her actively working on many of the stupid time sink quests (prismatic 100.0 or whatever the fuck it is up to these days). And if memory serves she is a registered user here and has posted some. There are thousands of people who don't post here does that make them some how less? Well, I guess to you it might.

But again raiding is but a facet of this game.

You just assume blindly that if someone from your group, guild or clique didn't win that the winner is some kiss ass nobody getting a free ride.

Loolee is probably the nicest person you'd ever be lucky enough to meet, and no - she isn't a hardcore raider, but she's got end game characters and she helps out everyone and anyone who needs it.

From mentoring down, to offering IN GAME advice - to walking n00bies she barely even knows through quests, she HELPS.

But you go ahead and assume that she's a kiss ass and doesn't deserve to win. It is easy to bash when you don't have a fucking clue on what you are talking about because little things like "facts" and "knowing what the fuck you are talking about" doesn't get in the way of your blind bitterness and jealousy.
