LOL!!! rockhill is less then 30 minutes away from where i live, that story didn't show up in any of the local the police blotters or weird news here so I'm inclined to think its fabricated or augmented.

I hope thats not true. What kind of fuck up of a parent has their child arrested for being excited about Christmas? Isn't opening, or at least peeking, into the gifts early a childhood norm?

I remember sneaking into all my presents one year while my parents were out, I was about 10-11. I thought I was soooooo careful at opening just the end to get a peek, but I got caught and came home from school to find that all my X-mas gifts were unwrapped and on my bed, thus ensuring that I'd get no X-mas this year. I was crushed for the 5 days before. Then my parents brought out the other gifts they had gotten or hidden.

The fear of not having an X-mas kept me to just shaking the gifts for the rest of the time I lived there.

I wonder how much more screwed up I'd be now if my mom had called the cops on me for that. What an inept fucking moron.

One year, when I was like 12, I snuck into the presents early (my parents were not the kind to hide them, we kept them under the tree until the big day) and I didn't get caught. I saw most of what everyone was getting, either from pulling the paper up on the side, or in some cases just reading the box through the paper.

That Christmas was probably the most boring and uneventful EVER for me. I already knew everything! It just was hard to feign interest in the whole scene.
