Yes, most German and Scandnavian autos are a mechanical nightmare. Unless you have enough money not to care about it. My husband is a tech for Honda and one of the best wrenches I've ever worked with. (Been in the repair business between cars, bikes and airplanes for 14 years0
We own 5 Hondas. 2 CBRs, an Accord, a Civic, and an XR650 dual-sport bike. The only reason we dont have 2 XRs is because it's too tall for me to get off the kickstand so I went with the Suzuki DR. =)
Anyway, Honda pretty much rules our household.

If I wanted one to smoke your PoS American cars, I'd just pick up a 90s model Civic with the B16 and build it up for stupid cheap. You'd be surprised how inexpensively you can hit 11s with that engine.

This is my awesome '96 Nissan Maxima, when I first started driving I went in reverse really quick and slammed into some dudes truck, I proceeded to drive away before he came out. Thus the dent~

I keep my dogs and college stuff in the backseat, imo~

Ignorant to drag racing are we? 11's are easy to hit on a 350 with some old crappy 2nd or 3rd gen f-body. How often do you go to the drag strip? My T/A only ran in the 13's and I only lost to an import once racing it for 5 years. American cars have more potential to create power, that's why they dominate drag racing, which is mainly about power. Also, out of all the japanese imports Honda definitely has the least desirable line up for drag racing. Toyota had the Supra, Mitsubishi has the Evo, Subaru has the WRX STI, and Nissan has the Skyline. What does Honda have? I'm talking cars here, I know Honda makes good bikes. The fastest Honda I am aware of is the S2000, which is a joke when it comes to speed. They may have a faster car, I'm not really up to speed on imports since I am into domestics.

I know Spikke, 11s in a 350 is no stretch.
11s in a 1.6 litre is so much more fun to build though and it's an impressive accomplishment. =) All the other imports you listed are mostly turbo'ed V6s, so not really even the same class.
We are more about the build than the stock output.

Oh, and a civic was the first all motor 4 banger to break 8.

LOL yeah, I get 40 in my Civic. And I don't drive nice. =)
