Is EQ2 worth coming back to now?

Hey all. I've played EQ2 for a bit and now I'm thinking of returning to it. Yet here is my question - is it really worth it? Has EQ2 improved? My highest char was like level 30, so not really much. If I were to return, I'd start a whole new char. That's why I'd like to know if the game is a bit more leveling-friendly then it used to be and whether it has improved overall :)

Some friends and I were excited to get our alt guild to 30 and get a guild hall and come to find out we only get 5 amenities! Thats not even enough to cover the basics. I tried searching soe forums for info, but only found the original guild hall thread or threads about guild hall decorating.
Coercer vs Inquisitor

So, ive been reading everything I can but am unable to decide between coercer and inquisitor.

I read alot about coercer soloing and how good they are, but on the other hand I hear people saying they suck at lower levels untill they get a bunch of AA's and expect to die alot.

From reading about the Inquisitor it seems they are a slower soloer then coercer and probably cant solo the same content at 80.

Im more concerned about 1-80 game at the moment. How good are both of these classes at getting to 80?

From vague bits and pieces I get the feeling soloing from 1-80 with a coercer doesnt involve too much charming, and its more just root and nuke, is this assumtion correct? If so, when people say "coercers rule at soloing" are they really talking about high end content?

Inquisitor interests me because they sound like the best soloer from 1-80 of the healer classes (besides the druids) and they are actually wanted at 80. Also at 80 I would then have the option to betray to templar which sounds like a wanted class in groups.

How slow exactly are Inquisitors at leveling from 1-80? Is it a good pace?

Is anyone able to clarify some of the above for me and help me make an informed decision on what I should choose?

Cheers.

Ok, I have experimented around with different toons and servers. I really, REALLY want to get involved in dungeon, and raid groups. My question is...what classes are core for those occasions?? Like Plate vs. Non Plate healz, Warlock AE vs. Wizzy single point devastation. SK vs. Zerk??

Esesentially, I just want to know what classes dungeons, and mostly raids are hunting for these days, in all aspects..heals, dps, tank, mez, etc..

What are some of the better servers for this style of play?? Are there any guilds that help train/gear their lowbies to help get them prepared for dungeon/raid ?? Please help me out, and let me know.

Thanks.

Gnome racial ability tinkered lockpicks?

When I get back from Afghanistan here shortly, I want to try out playing a coercer and wizard for the first time. I will be based from freeport and am looking at either the gnome, DE, or erudite as my race for these two classes. I saw this innate racial ability for the gnome and thought it would come in handy for these two mage classes due to their low hit points and paper thin armor. I could see them dying several times trying to open mob chests to a big boom! I will be soloing them pretty much most of the way to the LVL cap, without a rogue to safely open chests. My question is, does this ability work good enough for me to take the gnome over the DE and erudite races? Looks wise, I also favor the gnome, but racial ability wise, aside from possibly tinkered lockpicks, the DE is my favorite. Erudite is distant third choice in looks and racials thus far.

New player with questions about necromancer pets

Does anyone have a website with an up to date guide on the different types of necromancer pets? Or perhaps could offer me some information on the types of pets which are available?

I keep getting conflicting information from different sites. Some say the level 1 pet is a bat and have even have screenshots of it, but I just summoned my level 1 pet and it is a puny little skeleton called undead knight...

Do necros get different types of pets later or just a basic skeleton? Every site I go to is showing different pets like humanoids, spiders, etc.

I am hoping to find some solid info so I know what to expect out of the necromancer's pet types.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Sorry for double post I just noticed the noob board which is a better place for me right lol...hehe

Assassin or Swash

I can't decide. I have an 80 swash and an 80 assassin. But which do I call my main and focus on?

I like grouping but also want to start raiding. I know they're both decent dps but the assassin certainly seems to be able to dish out more dps easier.

They're also both on nagafen so there is the pvp aspect to consider as well.

Lastly, they're both fun! Which is why I'm having trouble choosing what to make my main.

Anybody with suggestions/opinions?

New player, non-raider advice request..

Hi all, I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I'm another WoW defector. I've been playing EQ2 for about 6 weeks now, my wife and I both have. My wife is playing and loving her warden, already up to level 64. I on the otherhand, don't have a character past level 25.

I've figured out at least that I don't like any of the scout classes, nor do I like the fighter classes, although SK is not half bad, but overdone it seems.

I've researched these forums for a while now. I've convinced myself that I want to play either a priest class, or a coercer. I like the fast casting of the coercer vs. the other mage classes, but haven't leveled one past 12, so not sure how long that will last.

So I'm pretty sure I want to play a Inquisitor, a Mystic, or a Defiler. So my questions are fairly basic, directed for those who have leveled any of those classes. What one will be the quickest for me to level and play catchup with my wife, and yet not present too many problems soloing or playing with her at higher levels. I know that they all seem to be AA dependant, the Inquisitor needing ~37 AAs to notice a big difference, and the Mystic ~44 AAs. I'm curious why the defiler, which EQ2 Wikia lists as an 'offensive shaman' is such a bear to level according to what I've read? What's so bad?

I'm leaning towards a Mystic, however I despise the starting areas of the good side. Neriak is my favorite place to level, so would leveling as a defiler until 20 and betraying be a reasonable option? Or should I convince my wife to mentor me quickly to 20 in Antonica?

Any advice is appreciated :D

Oh, and one last question. While leveling, is there any 'best' amount to slide my AA slider to?

Where abouts would i add a tell saying "Mana Flow is being cast on YOU!" to my set target?

I've messed around with it, had to reinstall profit 3 times due to buggering the whole thing up, i've managed to get as far as getting the macro sorted, but how would i add a tell to the thing?

Thanks in advance!
