What do you guys think about this game ?
I just ordered it today probably delivery tomorrow , from the video footage ive seen so far it feels sort of epic with giant size bosses
the difficulty seems quite high which is great imo , dying 2 in a row you will loose the souls you collected during a session and gotta start over again , the souls are used for spell upgrades etc.

anyone played it yet and could talk about it some more ?

Darkfall is definitely NOT for everyone.

However if you are sick of the standard MMO formula of levels, instances, and the never ending carrot-on-a-stick gear treadmill then I highly suggest you try this game out. Ive been playing for 9 months now and the game has come a LONG way since beta/release.

People love to bash this game (usually people that never played it...or its just not for them) so I will answer a few questions that I know are bound to come up:

1. OmG the graphics suxxor! - No they dont. Its actually one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Some of the animations and such were crap at launch but have been fixed up nicely. The models are designed to be able to handle 500 + person battles.

2. Teh game is full of Hax0rs - No...Ive been playing since beta and Ive seen one person that was blatently hacking. I reported him and he was banned the following day.

3. The community is awful - Actually its not. Sure there are retards like every other MMO but its actually a pretty fun community. There are even guilds setup to protect and help newbs.

4. I need to macro to be good - no they fixed the skill grind months ago. I have never macroed and Im awesome.

5. You are a fanboy! - yes..yes I am. I love this game and I would hate for someone to pass it over because one of thier carebear friends says it sucks.

What Darkfall does differently:

- FPS combat. no tab targetting, no hotkey pressing
- No instances in one of the largest MMO worlds ever created
- Mounted combat
- Ship combat
- Non instanced housing
- Almost everything is player craftable
- Exploring can be very rewarding
- Physics (you can shoot an arrow into the sky and it will eventually come back down near you)

This game is NOT for carebears, NOT for the weak of heart, NOT for people that suck at twitch gaming (unless your only aspiration is to be a crafter) and NOT for people that enjoy doing the same instances every week in the hopes of getting something shiney. If you like sandboxy non-linear games (like UO), a dangerous but fun world and something completely different from all the WoW clones out there then I suggest DARKFALL.

If any of our old friends from Grobb/Everfrost want to give this a try let me know as we have a few accounts floating around from our EU server days (we are now on NA server but they recently did a free character transfer).

I did like the first one, so I do have some high hopes for this one.

Is it redundant as fuck like the first one was? By the time I got to the fourth mission I felt like I was still doing the same thing...

It does look more interesting this time, what with the ability to kill people with their own weapons and all.

Planetside NEXT

Just wanted to start a discussion on Planetside NEXT and the old Planetside as well.

Personally I loved PS even with its balance problems I didn't really start playing until BFR's came out because they where pretty retarded.

I have yet to every play a FPS type game with the massive battles in the original Planetside with gear combined arms. I can't wait to see what this sequel will look like.

So what did people love and hate about the original Planetside and what do you want or not want to see in the sequel?

just curious what u all would suggest as a new mmo to play i dont hvae the time i use to but i wanna start a new game that i can play solo a couple nights a week that isnt crap. that i can learn from scratch.. any suggestions? ive tried wow didnt like it and i have to much time and know eq2 to good to play it casualy.... its just not fun playin it like that.

quite possibley the best game i've played in a long long time

the ai is fucking great the difficulty factor on all lvls is amazeing the graphics themselfs are out of controll

if you haven't played, you hate fps try this game out its far beyond any fps you have ever played.

In my opinion this is way too soon. I mean taking too long can be bad (hello, Darkfall!) but so soon? It's like they're shoving it out the door.

I've got visions in my head of C&C or SupCom in an epic MMO setting, fought across entire planets with hundreds of factions.. But I'm guessing the reality atm is probably suck.

Or perhaps something like Sins of a Solar empire in an MMO setting? (no not EvE, I already play that..)

Anyone else pick it up? Just got it today and its pretty fun. Takes some getting used to, even on medium its pretty complex for a noob like me. Normally not a huge on the DJ style music but it even gets my toes tappin. The best song so far without a doubt is Bell Biv Devoe "Poison"/ Cameo "word up." Can't hear Poison without thinking of and Word Up is just good shit.

So I found this fun little game to play at work. Its a flash based arena style game. It is called My Brute

If you mentor my Brute who currently has a wolf, then from what I understand, it increases the odds that your character will get a wolf within the first 10 levels. At least that is what I have read. Anyways, have fun, and don't let your boss see ;(
