Soul Cannibalize bugged?

In response to a discussion in the coercer forums I tested out how gear affects the defiler power feeds. I noticed that base healing gear does affect the power feed from Maelstrom, but does not affect Soul Cannibalize.

Soul Cannibalize is a hostile spell, but that can't be the sole reason for the gear not affecting it as base healing affects work fine with hostile spell-based power feeds like the coercer spell, Cannibalize Thoughts.

Is this a known issue?

Chain healer newbie

Greetings! My guild recently did a merge/re-strategizing of our raid force and my old main is not as needed as he used to be.

So I've been tasked to become a chain healer (I was a Fury), and my first question is which one? I'd be the chain healer in the OT group, and we already have a Defiler in the MT group. I know little about chain healers atm, but I'll be reading and studying a lot in the next few weeks as I grind one up.

So....what is the State of the Defiler atm, and what do we know about the next expansion? Are we the really as strong as the relative population levels between chain healers suggests? If you had no myth and no masters...would you betray to Mystic or would you stay where you are?

Thanks for the info

Defiler in OT Group

Our alliance generally runs both a mystic and a defiler, and usually the mystic is in the MT group and I'm in the OT group.

I'm curious what you other defilers do if you're in the OT group. I tend to keep group ward up and obviously keep the OT up when necessary - but in an engagement where only the MT is taking damage, do you cross heal/ward as well? I tend to, since we're defensive in nature, and based on my normal raid AA spec and gear, healing/warding is really all I can do *well*.

So any of you running in OT group, so you do this also? Do you do something differently?
