It does seem like a lot of money but if you've ever bought or priced a hand made doll like a Raggedy Ann or watched what into making one you would begin to understand. When I was a kid my mom and grandmom has this brilliant idea that they would make money by making Raggedy Ann style dolls. The first one took a few weeks while they learned how. The next 3-5 were made together and they were able to shorten down the time to a few days. Over time they realized the labor was just too much for what they would have to charge for the dolls. When you've spent enough hours that selling the doll for 50-75$ nets you 3 dollars an hour it's not really worth it.
No doubt with practice you can cut the time down on hand made objects but the labor involved is what you are paying for. This isn't some assembly line item made in a sweat shop in China by 7 year olds.
Still they are too rich for me. Besides I still hold a grudge against Billy for the monsterously long camps for him in the Nektropos Castle.
