Greetings fellow Norrathians,

I'd like to use this opportunity and announce the launch of the LootDB ( http://www.lootdb.com/ ), a yet another EQ2 item database.
At the moment the database appears to have the biggest set of working item links and our contributors are doing their best to keep it up-to-date by removing the outdated links that aren't working anymore. We are also working on adding more features, and have screenshots for the most of the end-game items as well as itemization of the item sets. The website at the moment has a working item search engine and an item collector program that registered users (aka contributors) can use to scan their eq2 log files and submit the new item links while playing. There are lots of ideas and plans about enhancing the project, and we are trying to build up a contributing community.

Now there gonna be questions on how this project is different from the other item databases. Currently in the works is magelo-style character dress-up tool, that gonna have several ways of playing with the gear you have, f.e. finding out what is the best poison resist gear setup from the existing gear. Also I'm working on adapting an open-source OCR tool, so we can have the stats database created from the screenshots.

Also if you haven't noticed it already, there is a way now you can quickly search for an item and/or its link without alt-tabbing out of EQ2 and launching an external web browser. You just need to type the following

/macro www.lootdb.com

I hope this project becomes something useful to the EQ2 community, and invite everyone to test the thing out, and let us know your ideas and suggestions.

I love LootDB. I just wish there was a quicker and more efficient way to copy links to the clipboard. Maybe a button that'll automatically do it for you? Just something to think about.

Unfortunately, copy button javascript works in IE only.. Firefox etc are too secure to allow a webpage access your clipboard for writing...
