The burden of proof is on the accuser.

If Cal's information is incorrect about the sale then the whole discussion is mute. So you will just have to wait until information is made public to make any real claims.

You of all people should not attempt to speak about legal theory.

But you'd be incorrect in this situation anyway. If I were required to prove the truth of what I've said after being sued for libel on the theory I defamed IGE or Affinity Media by making false claims against them, the judge in the case would allow me to submit a discovery request to IGE/Affinity, which would force them to give me a copy of all documents in their possesion, custody or control with any relevance to what I said, or tending to prove what I said about them is true.

Except this isn't a court case. Which means nothing you say can be held to be the truth. Nothing anybody can say is the truth unless there is hard evidence backing up those facts.

The fact is, on a message board the burden of proof is on the accuser. If you were in court, I would agree with you, but we're on a message board.

Ok, then on your logic, the burden of proof is on Calthine to prove what she said first, that Affinity Media has completely divested itself from the taint of IGE.
