Skill is intelligence for MMOs, rather than reaction. If you don't understand this, then you should just stop playing now.

Not in all FPS's, knowing the game and how it works in regard to hitboxes/netcode and what not helps a bunch too (ex. BF2)
I've also played with quite a few healers that were...slow...on the cures =p

Re: Most Influential Mages of all time??
BF2 is an exception, the games that they use in tournaments like CS, UT, Quake, etc. are mainly your reaction time, they have far more accurate ballistics and hitboxes imo. I'm not saying a fast reaction time is all you need to be good at those fps, but it's the main thing if you ask me.

Re: Most Influential Mages of all time??
UT2004 has strategy as well, though, especially in Onslaught. Knowing how to approach nodes (and knowing which to sacrifice and which to defend), and with what vehicle (if any), and knowing what weapons to use when you're about to get run over. Also, controlling the Redeemer spawn is crucial,
I also like to put spider mines on my manta and crash it into the enemy core.

The contest was complete garbage, as is the site, get over it. Dead thread inc.
If you think this game requires anywhere near the overall skill and reflexes of an FPS, you should die in a fire. They say if you lie to yourself enough, you'll start to believe it.
And intelligence does not equal being good at MMOs, although it seems many elitists seem to believe they're much more intelligent than they really are.

So if the people who can actually figure out the harder shit and get it done arent all that intelligent accordint to, and they use the same game mechanics you have available but you cant get the same shit killed, what does that say about you?
Why are you being so hard on yourself here? Its not healthy for your self esteem to walk around calling yourself a moron.

It doesn't touch the reflexes required in an fps, but requires equal amount of skill or more depending on what aspect of the game we are talking about. Yeah, I notice you seem to believe all the shit you are spouting, so that is probably true. If mmo's don't take skill than why are there guilds that can never kill anything till the level cap is raised while other guilds kill inside the first 2 months the content is released? Also, why does Eidolon suck so bad compared to the real top end raid guilds? I don't play this game anymore, in fact, I haven't played an mmo in a month(unless you consider Diablo 2 an mmo, but it isn't), I have been playing fps mostly, but the fact remains mmo's take skill, just a different kind than fps.

Re: Most Influential Mages of all time??
Diablo 2 also takes a hell of a lot more skill than the vast majority of FPSes (assuming Hardcore Hell).
