uh... that doesnt make much sense at all.

Anyway here is my two cents on the whole skill thing. Im not going to talk about other classes becuase I dont play them so I dont know how to judge them. However I do know a thing or two about wizards. Take any wizard in the entire game. Most are specd AGI/WIS and it doesnt take someone smart to figure that one out. Now, give them all the same lag free enviornment. I bet you they will all parse within 100-200 of each other and the only thing that will vary the parse is the gear. It doesnt take someone smart nor does it take someone with alot of skill to play my class. Hit 8 buttons and parse over 2k.

Now put those same people in an FPS, give them all the same gun on the same map. One will be the clear victor and I bet it will be a lot harder for him to gain the #1 spot purely due to the fact that playing an FPS requires more skill then hitting the same 8 buttons in a row.

Bottom line is it takes more skill/intelligence to play an FPS then a Wizard.

And this post is why you will continue to suck in EQ2. Here's a little graph I threw together as a rough estimation of most players in EQ2. I used DPS in my graphic.

Red indicates the players that suck. Low numbers of players REALLY can't do a thing right. The vast majority is in mediocrity. They mostly believe that EVERYONE is at that level since so many are...but they neve have the chance to encounter players in the blue. A very small number that have incredible skill. Sorry to burst your 100-200 dps theory, but the rest of us know better.

I swear the way some people talk its as if there are a few 'eq2 guros' out there with mystic powers who are able to click buttons in some ancient long lost fashion that only 1 or 2 people per server know about.

If that's true, then why are there people who consistently parse like ass? As much as it takes no "skill" to click a button, it also makes no sense then why 2 people in the exact same group setup with very similar gear parse so different. If you can explain how that works even and include the fact about there is no "skill" required in this game, then explain why it takes guilds so long to kill shit that they are trying? It's obvious that some people ARE better than others at this game, just based on the fact that they are killing shit at a faster rate than others who are trying just as much, if not more at the same mobs.

I agree with Pinski. Mostly because his math isn't Gorilla-like, and he usually knows what he's talking about. He's practically my opposite.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure the random ranger_01 who is in full relic/nemesis gear parsing like 600-800 per fight isn't going to do what random ranger_01 in random raiding guild_01 if you give him the same decent bow, avatar gear, select AA's.

No no, you're all right, there's just a select few people out there who are the end-all be-all of their class, nobody will ever be able to replicate them. They know secret hidden button combo techniques passed down by only the most elite of EQ players. It's a skill that takes many years to master, and only the rarest of rare players can acquire it.

EQ2 Jedi FTW
