Vote against me, vote against everyone in my guild, I dont care, but vote for someone who we have at least heard of. I guarentee there are 4 mages on that list that can parse higher, know more about their class, and can lead a high end raid better than that person that is wining (the person LFG named). That person simply does not deserve this title, and god knows I can go petition my guild to vote for us if I really wanted to, but I would rather the general popullace vote instead of begging the guild.

Since you seem to want to know who I am... I have been playing since the game came out I played coercer Arani until EoF came out and became a warlock. As a coercer I have been around on forums a long time. I am not new nor passive member of our community. My mentality on how to effect the community has changed since the days of getting a thread locked down on SOE forums, or trying to be serious about a topic when some desire nothing but derail. EQ2BattleMage is for those who wanted to participate in our community with freedom of expression and have control over the way their forum was handled.
I told my guild mates to vote for who they felt was right not to just vote for me out of obligation... it's even in the public section of our forums. And I have 2 votes... and a huge guild for raiders, and 6 of them have accounts on BattleMage... and only 2 votes, one of them is likely the person who nominated me. Chicken little the sky isn't falling. So hats off to my guild for voting their conscience cuz it wasn't for me.
soooo I understand you don't know me it's cool, but I'm an incredibly impartial person. I know I'm influential and part of my reasoning for making the Mage website in the first place. I run a Mage only forum that you don't participate in, I'm very well known on my server, and I grew up on coercer forums so there are others out there who do know me from this venue where you would not. There are a lot of players who participate in more than just EQ2Flames as great of a site as it is.
I did a search on every player nominated to read their stats try find out post counts see what guild they were in and their guilds rankings... With a couple exceptions they all seem to be people who contribute a lot on their level, and represent on that level what the Mage of Influence contest is about. They either are at the phase now where they hold sway or are high candidates to be the next ones when all the "too good for schoolers" have retired and moved on.
Hands down Calaglin is the most influential mage we have there is no doubt in my mind. This guy is the most knowledgeable and active mage regardless of forum, class, or raid schedule. He does not talk about things he doesn't know about, he retracts when mistaken, and he's relentless when proving a point. This mage makes the others want to play better.
One of the nominees was right, just being famous isn't the same as being influential. It takes a lot of class and STA to do what Pinski has for so long. Anyone who is active in more than just their arena of magery would see that in the dark. It's about what they do in the community, not just their guild/favorite forum.
Not everyone is active in multiple levels of the community and they vote for what they see and what they are active in... that is their right and shows they are voting for what they believe and not just for who leads the biggest guild. I'd rather have a bunch of mages saying we have a new up and coming coercer or random unknown Necro to be kept an eye on than so and so is sooo uber he must the most influential. Honestly is you don't see the value of multiple forum contributors and you are in a world wide guild you have no excuse.. at least the server ranked guilds have the excuse of they don't know what the world-wide community is like. Most server ranked players don't care or even know who most of these "high parsers" are. They likely know the names of the guild but not the players, except the ones who have been in the trenches for years trying to improve the class they play and in some cases the entire archetype. Players in the trenches will have sway, not just the ones on high horse.
All that said I'm only "winning" because people haven't voted yet. The people who nominated me voted for me, and perhaps some that I have accidentally impacted from running a mage only forum... The people who nominated others did not vote for them yet. Everyone likes to wait until last minute. They like to see whose winning and decide their vote that way. To each their own.
