Default EQ-Raiders.com Launches Guild Progression Website!

    Attention all EQ2 Raiders!!

For those who may not have noticed quite yet, there is a new section at the top of www.EQ-Raiders.com and that can only mean that the Guild Progression rankings are finally live!!! Hooray!!

Please anticipate some potential bugs as the load increases on the ranking system and people start submitting their guilds kills. We will attempt to squash any annoyances as they become apparent.

RaidHub integration is right around the corner as is the SOE Data Feed integration when it becomes available. Please read the FAQ section on the progression website to get an idea how Kill Submissions, Verifications and Disputes work.

If you see anything behaving not as it should be please drop us a post in our dedicated Progression Area Forum located on the main forum listing of www.eq-raiders.com.

A majority of the raiding guilds are already present in the database. If you enjoy the site please by all means make a comment in our forums. If there is something just not right or think that it could be done better, PLEASE by all means post in our forums. This website is designed to expand and improve with time and that can only get better with your comments and suggestions.

As a reminder, you do need a eq-raiders.com account in order to submit, validate or dispute guild kills.

A recent feature worth mentioning is that every guild that is submitted (aside from Raid Alliances, sorry guys) will have their guild recruitment information showing on their Guild Summary pages right off the bat. These pages in the future will expand exponentially with features as the new SOE guild data feeds hit. These pages will be practically Mini Guild Websites showcasing your guilds accomplishments, Awards and more. We will dress these up accordingly you can be sure about that. So please look forward to when these pages are finally fully realized.

So what are you waiting for... Get Ranked!!

EQ-Raiders - Welcome to EQ-Raiders.com the #1 place on the planet for Everquest Raid Strategies serving primarily EQ2 and soon Everquest Next!!! EQ-R4L!!

You need to do a lot of work to this if you want it to be remotely worth anything.

You don't show the score. Really?
I like how the date for our kills is wrong, apparently costing us a fuck ton of points that we can't see.
Time zones, how do they work. This is in fact a PST game.
Any remote value tied behind using Raid Hub and some artificial kill time factor is as dumb as it gets.

Also, your site in general has far less traffic then it could because you are a retard. Forcing everything to be hidden behind creating an account and logging in is so retarded I can't even put words too it.

Poke around the site a bit, here's your points Guild Detail | Everquest II Raid ProgressionYou have 0pts for dreadcutter, which I assume is from not verifying the kills.

Took me a couple min to figure out the navigation, but I lick windows for a living.

Suggestions are welcome, we're trying to make it useful and relevant.

Do you want the score exposed on the main page? That can be done! Right now you have to click on the guild name, then show detail.
I like how the date for our kills is wrong, apparently costing us a fuck ton of points that we can't see.
A couple of options here - dispute the info, or send an email/post on eq-raiders.com to correct the dates. The preloading of data was as accurate as possible. No doubt some are wrong.

Actually it's a UTC game. The best way to store time is in UTC since any government can decide when time changes occur. The data is rendered in CST. There will be a popdown to let you choose soon (today likely) what timezone you want to see.

Kill duration isn't in the formula. It's end-of-fight, when it dies. The Raid Hub integration automates the process so you don't have to go through the verification process and disputes. RH is also plugging in more kill information than a simple timestamp. That information hasn't been revealed on the site yet. We're just getting off the ground!

Also, your site in general has far less traffic then it could because you are a retard.
Awesome feedback, much appreciated. The site is for fans of the game, there's plenty of traffic. Do you see paid advertising scattered all over every free inch of the site? Here on eq2flames I get 3 ads and a popunder just trying to reply to you, and I'm registered!
Forcing everything to be hidden behind creating an account and logging in is so retarded I can't even put words too it.
What exactly is hidden? Everything should be right there. If I've locked out a page to unregistered users let me know. --Mecrab

Can you provide an actual e-mail or some sort of on-site ticket process? I know several of our kill dates are listed wrong for some reason and it is causing us a loss of several hundred points.

I think you're off to a decent start. I couldn't find the scoring either and didn't know that we have to verify kills for the score to show up. It just made it look like the DC kills outweighed everything from the previous year.

In looking at the scoring system I think it's set up pretty good...better than gp was for sure. Word needs to get out there about verifying I guess. And I would definitely make the points easier to find. I'm not sure I would've found them anytime soon without the poster above linking it. You could just put them next to the kills/dates when you click on the guild's name. Also would be good to put them on the front page in the spot where you hover over the green checkmark if possible.

Everyone that kills it on the same day should get the same points, period. Putting that in anything other then the game time means your points are skewed. For instance, it showing our dreadcutter kills on the 27th when they are in fact on the 26th. There is a reason shit was always done like that, and it is a valid one. Points shouldn't have any relevance based on who raids first. It's why people don't place any value on shit killed the same day. It's why no one ever tries to say OMG WW1 I KILLED IT 3 MINUTES BEFORE YOU! As it is, you've got a bunch of completely random time entries based on what time exactly? It certainly isn't converted from UTC in to any meaningful time zone/date.

Score should be exposed period. I should be able to look and see who is getting how much for what. I shouldn't have to dig in and then search for scores, it should just be right there.

If you're banning and shit based on ip for bad feedback, and only allowing 1 dispute on a kill ever, then why exactly do you need an account to do anything? That also isn't just about progression, it's about the whole website. Locking things behind accounts is retarded.

Here's an email you can use: progress@raidhub.com That'll be put into the FAQ also, certainly helps to just shoot an email. I'll get the points on the tooltips and make the verification process more obvious to the initial submitter. A number of people have been lost in that process. That's the problem with building a site - you don't see it with fresh eyes

Now that's a good one and really a difficult problem. Is the cutoff time 23:59:59 to get credit on the same day? and what timezone exactly is that? PST? New content is release, and I'm a late night raider. We killed it at 12:03:00 PST on the 27th. Those who raided earlier killed it at 8:00:00PM PST. Why is my kill worth less just because of some artificial boundary? Seriously, I'd like some input on this. Perhaps same-score for a 12-hour block of time? Or set a hard time of midnight UTC?
As it is, you've got a bunch of completely random time entries based on what time exactly? It certainly isn't converted from UTC in to any meaningful time zone/date.
The times are in UTC, converted to EST. That's not random. Relevant is the question, and that's great feedback. Fair and accurate is the goal here.

Score should be exposed period. I should be able to look and see who is getting how much for what. I shouldn't have to dig in and then search for scores, it should just be right there.
    I'll get it in there!

You can have 1 dispute pending in order to prevent click happy anonymous surfers from making our lives miserable. Once the dispute is reviewed, you can dispute more kills. I'll likely just rate-limit this (X disputes per hour) Or have your friends dispute the other kills. Do you really want anonymous people creating guilds, submitting a battery of kills, and disputing everyone else's kills? That's the abuse that made the old site die. If preventing that is "retarded", I'll be happy to drool on my keyboard in peace. --Mecrab

IMO set a cut off time at like 4AM PST the next day (for example kills before 4AM PST on the 27th still count as the 26th). That way late night guilds that start raids at like 12am PST (I know there are some out there) have a fair shot at points for first day kills as well. This time is also good because it is several hours before the Euro guilds start raiding and would be considered their second day.
