Plat farming for plat selling is like drugs my friends, If you hate the dealers hoss, you have to hate the users too.
neither one would survive without the other.
But that is obvious.

What blows my mind here is that people are not only cheating to get ahead by buying plat, but buying from and supporting a business that treats them like shit. All the bitching and moaning about bugs and hassles with patches and updates - there's nothing that really compares to the roach problem that is plat farmers.
The big redundant State of the Obvious Address (i.e. I need to spleen vent, it's been a bad farmer week as it is):
When you buy plat, you're giving someone money to...
-Help them buy more toons/hire more people to spam and grief
you. Not just the 'other guy.'
-Supporting people who will kill steal and mass clear areas including quest update mobs and nameds, effectively blocking legitimate players who are attempting to level up or complete quests in those areas.
Case in point:
This farmer who repeatedly spammed and attempted to train my lvl 50-ish dirge in LT. (I think "BO" was supposed to be "BOO" but even that got engrished)
I finally brought in the lvl 70 to clear, since I otherwise would not have been able to finish. In the course of doing that quest, I watched 2 sets of farmers get booted - I'd check the petition, see an answer, then see them all go LD...and 5 minutes later, a fresh batch of farmers would trickle in to start clearing again.
-Supporting people who will undercut honest players on the broker - every "cheap bargain" bought up from one of their sellers puts more plat in their hands that they have to sell...hence more spam and stupid pet tricks trying to monopolize the market.
I would not buy products from someone who harassed me, much less someone who pitched to sell me plat that they're acquiring by actively attempting to block me from killing for it myself.
This is like Taco Bell employees calling your house constantly and filling your mailbox with junkmail, then having guys stand there to shove you away from the door of the grocery store so you'll go buy their frigging tacos instead of shopping and making food yourself.
Their behavior is arrogant - bullying and harassing the people they consider customers. Perhaps it is less like Taco Bell than it is like some bum on the sidewalk outside of a bar, spitting and swearing at passersby while they bum for handouts and spare change.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a career playing a game for real money? These guys not only have this and make good money off of it, but they'll shove, elbow and otherwise bully you out of their way so they can sit on their asses playing a game all day for your coin that you're working a normal job to acquire.
The game is here to play and enjoy as a recreation and escape - for most people, this is something they do after a tough day at work to unwind and relax...and here they pay money for some other gibberish babbling asshat to play for them, then pay more money to actually PLAY it... What do they do when they play? Log in, mash buttons, log out again feeling good? About what? Wasting 50$ extra for fake money to spend on items you will never see in real life? I will personally donate 2$ for you to go buy some tinfoil, wrap yourself up and run around your neighborhood telling everyone about your cool fabled armor. You can be supercool in real life, you won't have to spend a dime and then, hey, at least you'll have something left over to pack up a lunch with when you're finally bored with it.
People who buy plat are attempting to roleplay a successful person in an imaginary world on the internet and are so bad at it they have to BUY the props to pull it off. Excellent, you don't just suck at life, you suck at fantasy life, too. /thumbsup
Novel Concept: play the game for the sake of
playing the game - otherwise go play a different game that doesn't require so much time or effort from you. Weeble wobbles are a good start, they're already fixed so they don't fall over!
(yes, I edited typos in my rant. shut up!
