My brother bought gold for WoW back in the early days of that game. When eq2 first came out I remember being excited when I hit 5 gold and again when I hit 1 plat. I quit for a long time then came back right ans EoF came out and played for about 4 months. I leveled a new toon and found making money during that first month of EoF to be insanely easy with anything treasured and low level going for 2-5 gold per pop as folks leveled up their transmuting. By the time I hit 40 I had 26 plat where before at launch my max was 3 plat.

What amazed me was that there were still people that had nothing. At 20 I bought a 2 plat horse and some dude accused me of buying plat for it. Do people not see that simple items sold like mad last year. Sure the gold rush ended and truth be told I think my toon Flasc is probably the most insanely lucky toon for harvesting rares but still simple loot drops made tons of money for a few months there.

The market right now reminds me of what it was like at launch and money is hard to make, although at launch if you were an alchemist you could practically print your own gold. Still I think the desire to buy plat is just pure laziness. My own laziness comes in the fact I've never gotten a toon to 70....yet!
