Default Is there a bot for broker manipulation?

First, no I am not wondering because I want to use one. If they exist it really sucks that someone would use it.

The reason I am asking is I have noticed several players who spend most of their time, especially during normal off peak times, standing in front of the broker. Further, they always have the lowest prices on everything they are selling, and always by the same amount, usually 1cp. If someone puts an item up for less, always within a short amount of time, usually 5 mins but sometimes 10 mins or more, they are lower again by 1cp.

I am becoming more and more convinced that someone released a bot recently that does this to the market, but I wanted to see if anyone knows anything about it or has seen similar things on their servers before I start doing shit like timing it to find out if it is exactly ever 5 mins that they update their prices, seeing if there is a limit to how low they will go, and eventually after gaining enough information creating a clear concise report on them that the GMs can use to verify they are up to no good and ban them.

Bots to harvest suck, bots to multibox suck, bots to craft suck, but making a bot that constantly keeps your wares the lowest on the broker is just plain evil.

A reason I won't buy something from someone that undercuts the price by 1 cp. I'm not so cheap that 1 copper makes that much difference, and the evidenced chance that the price difference is the result of something not up front is enough to decide it for me.

I imagine the server could easily monitor exact repetition of broker queries. Or monitor query saturation over long contiguous timeframes.

IIRC the program is called Market Sniper (nice name, huh?) It will also purchase for you when the price of "x" falls below "y" value.

Thanks for the info, guess I need to take a couple hours out to start getting evidence on some folks to turn in a report.

Kinda wish the name hadn’t been posted here, now people will go looking for it.

I wonder what kind of hilarity ensues when two people using the bot go for selling the same item.

unless the programer is a complete idiot , none. it should stop when you reach a certain price range and wont devalue the items lower then the set value.

It's easier than that. Just look for the toons standing in front of the broker 24/7 day after day.
