Re: Platfarmers: Does it really matter?
I think Ninibi pretty much said exactly how I feel about the real money trading (RMT) farmers. These guys behave a lot differently from a legit player who just farms because he needs money. How else are you going to afford in-game uber goodies? You can craft, you can harvest nodes, you can slaughter some sentients, you can take down some named (if you can solo)... You gotta make money somehow, and there's no problem with that.
But the players who are "professional gamers", as they call themselves, play many, many hours, monopolizing regions or named monsters for the sole purpose of getting in-game coin to sell for real money. Those are the pests. They make certain quests nearly impossible to do, and the economic inflation they bring just sucks ass. And some of us would like to take down a named just once so we can get the AA credit, but that can be a pain if the RMT farmer crews have 'em locked down constantly.
So yes, I do think the RMT farmers are a problem, and so are the people who BUY the plat from them (they're almost just as bad, IMO, since they feed the bastards). But the casual players who farm to make money so they can buy in-game stuff are still perfectly fine in my book.
