Eq1 doesn't have a spam filter. They don't have as much spam as EQ2 still does, but there's some.

looks like the said perpetrator is already exploiting the new station launcher. You can chat online live with all your friends across all SOE games with the new launcher. On my friends list it tells you who is online and such without actually logging into game, so you are in complete stealth mode, and cannot get booted from server yet. I do not know if the spam filter works from launcher yet.
