Shdw's posts sound about right to me. There were a few people at that time with the bw to do what mb did but they had more sense. It was nothing special.

Has it been long enough to tell some interesting stories? cf had root on best for quite a while which noone really worked out. We also had Dianxxx's oper passwords logged for a looooong time until I gave one to ray to take #chatzone or something.

Man, I'd dig some stories. Even if someone just laid out a history of the efnet wars / when the different groups formed / fought / merged etc. Those days were awesome, even for someone watching it second hand like me.

It was a cool time to experience the internet and watch the fireworks in #shells and such, haha. Seeing the ingenuity that people put into the botpacks (and subsequent hijacking of botpacks) really left an impression on me and fueled an interest for crypto/security/programming that lasts today.

Who came up with the +o-b(blowfish encrypted & base64 encoded string) that validated the mode change with other bots method? I remember looking at the source for that pack and it being obfuscated and encoded as if it were put together by the NSA.

Does anyone know how to get ahold of or what happened to Z-man/Gol? My memory has faded, but I think he was in core and then glitch? He taught me a lot about programming, and he made some really cool shit.
