Funny, you're mentioning this well after the fact. The issue was closed because the activity would have been deemed illegal.

But on the other hand, if you'd like to clearly explain to us how this website deserves the same disruption that a plat selling website ought to receive, I'm all ears.

I think we all have learned from information in this post, and based on recent bona fide hacking attempts on this site, that all denial of service and other hacking attacks are illegal. Providing information about how to commit, soliciting, or promoting the commission of illegal acts is not permitted on this site, based on Site Rules.

When this issue was first raised, it was brought up in an "eye for an eye" context. In my opinion, nobody intended to suggest that anyone commit any illegal acts, the nature and extent of the issue wasn't fully understood at that time, including by me.

I'm therefore going to decline a suggestion I received to close this post for that reason. This post has promoted a good discussion and helped people understand that all hacking attacks are illegal, even when done against plat sellers or other people we don't like.

If anyone *strongly* disagrees with the opinion I just gave, I'd be inclined to close this post so I don't have to spend a lot of time arguing about this.

Why don't we just report the plat selling websites to the EQ2 people? There are hundreds out there that advertize selling the plat on more than just the exchange servers. Go directly to the source and nail them there. Then EQ2 could put up a sting operation and "order" the plat from those websites and start banning those accounts. Yeah, it'd take a bit of work, but it'd be worth it in the end. They could hire a temporary crew to do just this and nothing else.

Wow, another efnet kidding, how ironic. I was good friends with rolex and the whole crew, dznutz, powder, warbux,wire but i never remember you niber! You must have come in a bit after Rolex got busted or someshit heh. Ahh the god old days having 30+ isolnet botnet's that were all carded. Before you call anyone a complete idiot, make sure to call you're self a complete liar. Conflict had nothing to do with the creation of Trinoo. Trinoo was written by my friend phifli, who was apart of TNT. I never seen you on EFnet in my life, and i knew just about everybody there.
I also asked raymond about you, and sadly enough the leader of conflict has no idea who you are.

For the rest of the haters who are calling me an idiot, get a life. Neither of you have the balls or brains to pull it off. It's funny how it never happened again? Considering Yahoo administrators posted an atricle saying they are attempted to be shut down every hour, yet no one succeeded. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm not going into details but I knew phif very well. And you and I both know you were only as good as Phifili and Str8's tools. You should be sharing a jail cell with Shdw not writing columns and you were definitely no genius.
