But NN had some crazy cats. ryNN, chlorine, sinkhole, shdw, meta?

That efnet hack where nn klined all the opers was simply fire, tnt/p never did anything on that level.

Nothing says total annihilation and strikes fear into the hearts of internet groups like the word, CORE. An Internet security group not to be confused with the all mighty cracker group CORE.

A very small and tight-knit group compared to the likes of every other group which had atleast 10+ members in their fold.

Core single handedly destroyed every single efnet group in existence, becoming the supreme ruler of efnet until the great irc wars came to a hault.

The first victim, Chrome, ended up fucking with the wrong innocent people, and this groups arrogance is the primary reason CORE came to light. Chrome witnessed one hell of an embarrassing dismantling of their infrastructure, their prized jewels some of the premier elite efnet channels were then taken from their control FOREVER.

A fire was started that would fuel the group CORE to takeover control of efnet. Still today on efnet, CORES presence can be felt whenever a user sets mode: +o-b. CORE innovated many tools and techniques that are still used today.

At one point every group on efnet banded together like brothers for a cause so great which was to defeat CORE.

Jeremy?, bOMB, Phifli, Dr Mengele, Mixter, ryann, and the other ryan, Mafiaboy, Snare, Fawzy, Shdwknght aka ShdwDork, also the very lame Mshadow the one who leaked information and logs that helped Canadian law enforcement to apprehend Mafiaboy.... and many more not named.

Denial of Service Attacks were and are very dangerous and CORE was hit with everything the elites of efnet had to offer, including the new innovative Distributed Denial of Service tool, Trinoo.

The first ever DDOS tool, Trinoo, was first used against CORE and proved to be a highly effective weapon.

Although still standing with the development of drones, another great innovation, CORE posed quite a force to be reckoned with.

The old "If you can't beat em, Join em" saying is a wise one. TNT/Phorce took light of this saying and proposed a merger with CORE that would calm the waters of efnet.

This is an extremely brief summary without going into much detail.

One day when the movie is put into production and finally released the world will get a glimpse/behind the scenes of what it was like to be a supreme internet security group, CORE, who put a tight chokehold on all the other organizations and maintained rule over efnet in the times of the great irc war era. This is a multi million dollar picture greater than any hackers movie to date. Based on a true story with real events.

Pretty good summary, you're quite the CORE fanboy. But I appreciate seeing some of the names I'd forgotten. (You even mentioned bOMb!)

CORE designed a revolutionary eggdrop client but outside of that they were far from revolutionary. Most of their takeovers were a result of that stupid drone flood shit, not any breakthrough hack. There were 2 people that revolutionized the TCL security scene -- str8nger and ZMan (or whatever the fuck his name was). But a great botpack does not make you a great hacker, or hacking group.

There were 2 people in the scene who were ahead of their time. Str8nger and Phifili (both form tnt/p). Str had his hands on everything and Phifili designed both hijack.c and trinoo -- among other things I'm probably neglecting. Hell, without hijack.c that +o-b shit wouldn't have even been relevant.

PS. Trinoo was not the first DDOS. Mixter wrote the first one.

Your information is highly incorrect, please do not present information that you know is not truthful. It is quite obvious you are very clueless, it has been many years and you might have heard information by word of mouth that has been incorrect from the start or distorted.

It is quite obvious you have zero clue about what you speak of and are throwing bits and pieces of information around that was passed on to you.

Frankly, for your sake there is no need to go into detail about what the internet security group, CORE, may have developed public or private. I see it as wasted time to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person, as you lack alot of truth to what was real.

There is no need to divulge information so that YOU will finally have a clue. One day when the movie is released you might finally get that clue to how hard you and your associates may have been infiltrated.

This is an extreme statement that is 100% false. Like I stated, you really have no clue, only what your associates told you (which at the time, they may have been too embarrassed to reveal with you the real truth behind them being owned). Also servers quickly changed their SendQ Exceed limits to thwart flooding at an extreme level.

And where did Zman come from young trooper. CORE went far beyond a secure bot... You should just relax and wait for the movie, you'll get a clue then.

Although Str8nger knew almost too much, he met adversaries in CORE who were on another level who even astonished himself. Phifli was very intelligent for such a young individual, although no mere match for CORE. Trinoo was a grand development in innovation of denial of service tactics, although an extremely evil tool. CORE sported a more whitish color hat and was not interested in such a destructive device.

Hijack.C huh.... I gather pjack.c has been guarded well. Your "friend" phifli will punch you in the face as he will no doubt give credit where its due, CORE.

And yes, it has been some years you may be referring to stachel, although random may have had a part in that. I am pretty sure Trinoo was one of the first DDOS attack tools to be launched towards multiple targets and not just one.

FYI: While I never coded any tools, I used them (when I was like 16 at that). I do respect the few talented coders out there, however that "niche" is basically a bunch of e-peen flexers at their very worst, and a phase I'm glad I've grown out of.

But thats just my opinion.

I can't imagine anyone watching a documentary on the scene back then. Although, it would be entertaining if they gave it a chance. I know my "packet warrior" career ended like most people who were involved back then -- with the FBI.
