I don't think there is an english equivalent. You see, what you are witnessing is someone re-enacting a conversation in a dead language. leet speak is sort of like latin in that, while there are people left who know some of the words, it's dead because there's no one left who uses it or remembers how to use it. The principal difference between leet speak and latin is that we believe, at some point in history, people actually knew how to use latin well enough to put together coherent sentences. All available research indicates it was never the case for leet speak, and the re-enactment you just witnessed demonstrates this.
