Default harvest/afk craft bots

Wasnt sure where to put this, gameplay didnt feel right so i put it here cause there is some type of botting here.

Heres what i want to ask- In lfg's are you a bigger retard or whatever the name is, he calls out some dude on nagafen with like 11k worth of x resorce. most people's reaction was in horror and disgust.

My question is - whats the big deal?

So this dude has a bunch of resources on the broker. if hes botting so what. he's not stealing quest mobs or hindering anyone's gameplay. im just trying to understand what the big deal is.

in that adventures in phoenix thread, people are ripping jinx for using a craft program to level her crafter.

Again whats the big deal?

i personally hate crafting and i have no patience for it.
never had a crafter on swg, and certainly dont have one here.
the evercraft program sounds like a good idea and helps ease the monontony of crafting.

yet people slam her for using one. am i missing something?

I guess you must be "missing something".

For starters - and mind you, I normally hate this EULA-quoting shit that goes on - this will be one of those rare cases where I just come out and remind you that it's right up front in the EULA that 3rd party programs which automate the playing process are forbidden!

As far as hating crafting goes, I don't see how anybody could be serious about crafting and love it, 100% of the time. It's nice to be able to contribute useful items to the game for other players (or yourself and your alts) to use, but the system is time consuming, repetitive and boring after a while. Now take that tedium just for one crafting class and multiply by ELEVEN - assuming that you also have a tinkerer and transmuter - and I guarantee you that trying to level up all those classes to max the honest way will just about drive you mad.

If people want easy mode crafting all they have to do is switch to WoW, where you just pick the item and quantity thereof you want to produce from a list and let the game do the rest of the work while you just sit there and watch a bar repeatedly fill up. EQ2 crafting, despite the blunders of previous devs who left a smoking pile of shite for Domino to clean up, is meant to be a major time sink with the rewards of usefulness to the community and a sense of accomplishment when you finally hit level 80. It is NOT intended for people to let a bot program handle the work while you're off buying Mountain Dew and Twizzlers at the corner store, or whatever.

People who use botting programs ruin the economy and the spirit of the game for those who play legitimately. I find it very hard to believe that you don't understand that, but to each their own I guess....

i made this post for 2 reasons-
1. first and foremost, create a discussion.
2. to answer my question. ( i really dont see the big deal, but thats just me)

as far as it being cheating, you're 100% right eula does state 3rd party programs are taboo, and im sure using act is excluded.

I do have a toon that has xmuting, and tbh, i view it as a waste of time( bear with me here)

It cost several 100's of plat to grind that up, and most of the time from what ive experienced first hand, lets say i buy 4 or 5 masters to to xmute, on say tier 1, i blew 60 gold each master, i use the materials and i craft something using the tier 1 materials, the adornment i make is worth what? 60 silver? im losing money.

with that being said, once i max out xmuting on breaking down shit, i then have to craft adorns like a regular crafter. i mean wtf, lose money and put in time like a fucking lunatic crafting?

Is it not tempting to use these programs? aside from being against the eula, i see no harm in using evercraft. it hurts no one. and im sure there are more people who use it that arent speaking up.

Now for those who will call me a botter- i dare you to look my toons on eq2players and call me a botter. ill give names of my alts and you will see all my toons if they even have a crafting profession are all low. Dukkat, Weyoun, Plagious, and Malbogia

im partial to using them and dont see any reason why they shouldnt be used en masse. If i wasnt such a cheapskate, i would buy evercraft, but being i dont believe in paying for anything on the internet, especially pr0n, not going to start on evercraft.

thats my opinion and like the old saying goes, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

feel free to state yours-

This discussion has been discussed in a number of threads. L2read.

Basically it comes down to 2 things - cheating and the impact on the economy. If you dont wanna craft no one makes you do it. There are plenty of us crafters out there that are more than happy to work for you.

With the harvest thing. This shit pisses me off to no end. Craft botting i dont condone but whatever fine. Harvest botters totally piss me the fuck off, as when i wanna lvl a crafter or get rares i have to fight for nodes with some afk tool. Ive had many many harvest botters baned, especially in POF. Not hard to spot and yes, yes indeed to DO impact in my personal pleasure of the game. If you dont wanna craft or harvest dont do it, but dont be such a lame ass cheater.

It is cheatin. pretty simple. But in all honesty if you do nto craft ir harvest to support your adventuring oon i do not think you would think it was a big deal and can understand where you are coming from.

BUt yes, for the legit people out there harvesting and crafting it is a huge deal.
