I didn't get to read the entire article, but yeah, what you said. But you realize I do not completely disagree with the second statement, right? I just think the first one trumps it. So long as the server logs offenders and they get punished, I think its a fair tradeoff.

The real question is, how does EQ2 do it now? I'd be willing to bet they're closer to my viewpoint.

Sad truth is they are using an injection method hack just like what is used in any FPS or RST. At least thats my thought. I never saw this program we wont speal of.

Fortuantly, games like EQ2 dig much much deeper into whats going on on your computer than any FPS or PB can do so it would seem like it should be easy for them(SoE) to eventualy ban eveyone using this hack.

The people making crappy gear and worthless upgears might make amature mistakes. But you can bet the people who build and maintain the servers and netcode are some of the best in the world.

Sadly, that's a bet I wouldn't get within a light-year of. And it's not really because I think SOE are a bunch of dimwits, but the "best in the world" are going to be in places that are even juicier targets than game companies.

I make it a point to not buy rare items from anyone who has more than 10 of them. I also think you all give the farmers way too much credit. Hundreds of people are warping around, so i doubt its one person or even one organization. obviously warping is something anyone can figure out how to do, question is how?

Fuckin farmers got timers on those shiney's and got em on lockdown. Its wrong when a guild does it to an epic mob, and its wrong here too. The shiney's need to at least fight back and have a good chance of killing the harvester (if his level is low enough).

I'm not sure about RoK, but it was easy as hell to run a level 1 toon around bonemire to harvest shinys.

I can tell you I saw it daily for a bit.

oh shut the fuck up. It lags the whole zone out as well, spell lag, harvesting, everything lags up. It gets annoying. I kill named in KC and am planning on doing a bit more once I get a dual setup and I dont wanna be lagging out so some fuck can keep his job. Id rather SOE fuck him over so they can get real jobs and not screw over certain zones. If your there when they start and they wont leave its pointless to continue the lag is so fucked. Imagine if they went to sebilis and chardok. In sebilis even though its easy to get down to say VS lair, but if they were speedhacking there it would turn a 5-10min run into like 30 the lag is so bad.

Also not to mention fuck SOE. I posted the issue a while ago on the eq2players forums and of course. Locked. They gotta go here to figure what the fuck is going on with there game.
