I am going to say whom ever manages the Atlas Ad Manager control panel accidentally left this sponsor in. Or they got really, really, lazy and hit "approve all"! Atlas is a Microsoft Product, so who knows it could be a bug.

As with most advertiser programs you have total control over what adds your visitors see and what they don't see. It's a point and click deal, you click yes or no if you want to display them, there's no complicated code or anything, most Ad management can be taken care of in less than 5-10 minutes a week.

As far as petitioning, more detail should have been added, including a post of the screen shot so they could forward it to the right department. A GM wouldn't be able to resolve this issue, it would be like asking a Moderator on the official forums to fix a bug in the game.

I bet SOE has an advertising department thats not even related to EQ2 or any other game that they produce, it's probably not even in the same country.

This is another PR blunder for SOE and as always they are keeping quiet about their fuck ups.

Not really Cynic. There's a name for that. Don't they call it "targeted advertisement"? I think they even pay extra for it.

I had a link to the thread here and a direct link to the screenie (in case soe blocked flames at work)in the Petition, I would have written the Petition to the Guy responsible for the Ad's on the Website, but it's not like soe has given out his name. If the GM would have bothered reading the Petition he could have just forwarded it to whatever Escalation Channels he has for Complaints about the Website.

SOE is not universally opposed to RMT, only RMT conducted by unauthorized parties. In this regards, SOE is moving much more towards a regulatory stance as opposed to a prohibition stance.

What they could do, is a kinda Archlord system, the twats who want to Pay2Win can pay SoE for credits/items, and in return SoE makes the game free to play. Win-Win-Win situation
